LOVE the four big singles. (Little Lies, Everywhere, Big Love, Seven Wonders)

I'd have to re-listen before I rated as only Family Man and Welcome To The Room... Sara immediately spring to mind of the other tracks.

Also, the chart :david: of me loves the hit-flop-hit-flop-hit-flop trajectory of the six singles, with the biggest hit being the 5th (Surely Everywhere could've been a #1 if released earlier in the album's shelf life?)

I only know Little Lies and Everywhere, both of which are AMAZING, Little Lies more so.

I don't really know much else about them though. Were the vocals shared equally between all the members?
 
They basically all wrote songs each and then whoever wrote the song would do lead vocal.

Nah. It was a very different world where it didn't REALLY matter when you released the single- particularly if the good old fashioned "Remix" tag was added to the end of it (often for something NOT REMOTELY DIFFERENT :D )

Though I did love the "Hit-Flop" thing myself at the time....

Man in the Mirror originally hombed but then everyone had the LP...
 
I think Rumours, eponymous co-ed debut and Tusk are their key works. I'm interested in the pre-fame Buckingham/Nicks album as well, which convinced Mick Fleetwood to add them to the line up.

Apparently mega cokehead Stevie fucked all of The Eagles or something :disco:

The Buckingham Nicks album is good. Stevie even pillaged it for tracks on her new album :D

I have a soft spot for 'Mirage', 'Gypsy' is one of their best songs.

Not sure if it was all of the Eagles but definitely Don Henley and Joe Walsh.

But that's nonsense considering "Dirty Diana" AND "Smooth Criminal" both went top ten after it (and "Leave Me Alone" for that matter, but you could argue that was cause it was only on the CD and vinyl buyers didn't have it...)
 
I thought the lack of video for MITM may have been a factor, but that certainly didn't matter for lead off single IJCSLY! I remember Dirty Diana was built around the tour hype, first single I ever bought.
 
Sheena is right in terms of order of single release being far less important then than it is now, or has been for a quite a long time. I don't think it was completely unimportant though. But then albums back then I'd say were more likely to be deep enough to produce a number of big hits, rather than spunking it all up on the first single, hopefully have a semi decent second one, and then make the rest just filler and if anything sticks it's a bonus. Although I guess Fleetwood Mac were never that sort of act in the first place, and pop acts back then were also guilty of it. Perhaps.

Anyway, wasn't 'Everywhere' a big hit largely because it was supported by a big tour rolling into the UK? I think that's something that used to happen a lot more back then than it does now; tours reinvigorating albums and producing hit singles. Indeed I'm sure sometimes potentially bigger singles were purposely held back to either promote a tour, and/or be promoted by the tour.

Their best album, it’s SO GOOD. I went through a period a few years ago of obsessively listening to it on repeat which may explain my slightly :eyes: loony ratings
 
At that time I'd have been getting off on being spitroasted by Morten and Mags. Nobody has BDE like Mags, amrite?

Happy to consider a retrospective reappraisal Suedey, if you've got evidence.
