The amount of condiments everyone has, I'm speechless. I don't think I have any of them, they must be tasty but can't be that healthy, right? I don't think you can buy most of them here, where do you put all that?

The UK is a nation of peasents. We don't have the rich abundance of mainland Europe, we had to put everything we could into jars or DIE.

I did in fact go my local grocery store the other week to buy READY MASH further to in-lounge intercourse on the matter, only to discover to my disgust that they had NONE IN STOCK so MARIS PIPER AND BUTTER it was and a lot of shockingly exhausting washing-up

Growing up in the 70s and 80s I don't remember my mother using any herbs or spices, other than ground pepper (i.e. dust) on the table.

I remember thinking a Schwartz spice rack being the absolute height of sophistication.
