I did notice that Frankfurt is very tall and glazed, like Germany's regional answer to Basingstoke.

You're totally right. Super liveable, good salaries, so convenient for business - but Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin and Munich all have more flair, no doubt.

I feel that Frankfurt is unfairly maligned by a lot of people! A friend of mine lives there, so I've often stayed a night or two with her when I had to fly in or out of Frankfurt. It's not really that pretty, but there's always so much to do! Concerts, festivals, markets... The museums are also pretty great, as are the restaurants. And I love me some Grüne Soße
