I'm cold, it's Bandcamp Friday and I'm listening to David Bowie outtakes.
 
Anyone got any suggestions for somewhere to go away for a few days just after Xmas? Somewhere not too far from London. I think we need a few days away :square:

Peak District? Devon? Go somewhere rural and relaxing.
 
Moopy I need to tell you something super exciting!!

On the island we have Quarr Abbey. Its absolutely stunning, 10 mins from my house, and one of my favourite places on the island. Its also a MASSIVE tourist attraction.

I've just had a meeting with the manager and they're going to start stocking our fudge with immediate effect. They've just placed the biggest order we've ever had.

And Father Brian will pay all our invoices!

Plus they have really cute piglets.

Did anyone watch it? The person asking about electric car infrastructure and talking about juice anxiety was talking about ME phoning him up in the middle of the night and asking if I could charge my car at his house :D
 
The Cotswolds are incredibly pretty, but I'm not so sure how much there will be to do with children. There will be some attractions you could research though, I'm sure. Plus you have Cheltenham no so far away if you want a beautiful town.

I'm not counting on the weather being great so I'm even thinking a cottage somewhere and then just venturing out for fresh air here and there. Don't really need too many attractions!

The National Trust have loads of beautiful holiday properties to rent that span from cottages to castles all over the country. Some of them are really quirky, all of them are beautifully maintained.
 
Also Herbie travelled from the mainland on a hovercraft. He enjoyed his little trip :disco:

All children are different! Mine just won't sleep for long in a car so shorter journeys are better right now!

Fair enough. I'm not judging, I just genuinely was curious because I thought kids liked car journeys. Was just trying to offer advice on nice places to visit :)

They will LOVE the Island. Loads for little ones to do and nice beaches. Before you book anywhere let me know and I can recommend nice and not so nice areas to stay.
 
@Star back to this break, what about looking at staying in a cottage on a farm? My friend just took her two young ones somewhere with pigs and goats on the farm. They loved spending time watching the animals so much that they barely needed to go anywhere.
