Adele - 30

Well she's doing 2 big Hyde Park shows in the summer, I am sure she'll just do a few more of those type shows rather than a big ole tour and I don't blame her :D

To Be Loved is just beautiful, I am obsessed that she can deliver that vocal sat in her pjs and I just love the whiplash effect of how she can deliver ‘lavishly produced tv special’ performances and ‘sat in her gaff singing to the camera’ and both just be stunningly superb for different reasons.

what a shoot :D fuck

out in 1.5 HOURS.

Critics seem to be loving it (89 on Metacritic!) but fans seem divided. many are citing the Max Martin track as being awful. :D

can't wait to wake up tomorrow and POP my PUSSY to some hot six minute DIVORCE BALLARDS!

I really couldn’t be LESS EXCITED for this

Hopefully she’ll sneak in Rolling In The Deep 2.0 or SOMETHING

The Max track is cute. I like that there’s somewhat of a pulse. Probably won’t even bother with the rest.

Which is the Max track? I'm sure I'll listen to the whole thing tomorrow but I'm not that excited

Played the Max Martin track. Meh. Not gonna bother with the rest after this, I presume it's more of the same.

the Max track is the total outlier!

the TOP BOP by initial buzz seems to be Oh My God

No I mean NOW!

I'm going to listen in a sec so I'll probably just waffle on for a bit now.

I will do the bops now and the ballads in the morning when I hate life.

I'm going to skip and listen I think. I don't think I've ever done a whole Adele album in one sitting.

07 Strangers By Nature - a very classic sound, almost Christmassy. Quite a strange album opener! I do like the swooping strings. More Katie Melua than Adele.

Strangers by Nature is fucking weird and gorgeous. Super trippy.

8.5

08 Easy On Me - I can't deny any more that this is a great song. I also know I won't ever listen to it again after next year. I think the 80s version has made me love it far more than I would have otherwise.

Easy On Me is a minor classique. I actually love it. those vocals in that last minute... she's never sounded so good.

9.5

Is this an Inflo track? I can totally hear the Little Simz comparisons. Very NOW sounding, with the obvious 70s references.

Oh no now not the audio track conversation with her child :zombie: TRACK RUINED.

07 My Little Love
(a 09 without the spoken word recordings)

the Inflo tracks are near the end funks, this first stretch is all her go-to Greg Kurstin

I'm honestly FUMMING about the stupid audio recording on that third track, it's brilliant and she's fucking ruined it with her indulgent I LOVE MY KID nonsense. Why do artists do that?!

the song is indeed fantastique. it's so fucking smooth. I will learn to live with the voice notes.

6.5 Cry Your Heart Out - lovely production but bouncy flouncy Adele is never my favourite vibe. Send My Love To Your New Lover is another example, I get it's a strong song, but it's just not my bag.

09 Oh My God - I was honestly a bit bored of this when it started by WOW at that chorus! :o talk about turning it up a notch. The vocal effects on this are different for her but it still works. OK second chorus now and I'm a bit obsessed with it, the best bit of the album so far.

The production so far has been stellar. Great care has been paid to this record! It has massively helped the album overall so far.

Cry Your Heart Out is really lush. and fun. this whole album is nothing like what was suggested so far.

not hearing any singles tho!

06 Can I Get It - anyone else getting noughties Madonna vibes :D Just an Adele album track for me... I don't dislike it but it's not doing much for me either.

06 I Drink Wine - again there's nothing new here, sounds like an Adele album track from 21 or 25. I can see this being a fan favourite and will definitely be a single, but it's more of a mass market choice than a critics choice. Meh.
