I really think that the sooner left/left leaning parties realise that this is the way to go the better. We really can't afford another 'hard' left situation.
 
The one good thing about the Boris years is that it seems to have lanced the double boil of Brexit being the defining political issue of the time, and the veneer of Tory "competence" vs. Labour "chaos with Ed Miliband".

I wonder whether it would be similarly good for an Labour-SNP coalition to emerge in order to put to the test the illusions that a lot of people seem to have about this eventuality. It might even show a lot of Scottish people who are on the fence that it is possible to be represented by a party in power in Westminster, which might in turn shore up support for the union.

Of course, given recent history, it could all descend into a complete shitshow. But isn't shitshow the new normal anyway?

The SNP wouldn't go into coalition - they explicitly don't consider it their right to govern over the rest of the UK.
 
Would they go in for a deal like the DUP did with the Tories though?

Labour's vote share in NS shrank yesterday and they apparently don't understand how tactical voting works. Also he's not an unelectable geriatric and they're threatened with the prospect of someone who could actually see Labour into power as opposed to being perennial opposition.
