Happy new year everybody!

Worst sore throat ever, I blame those LFT tests, but no hangover because I didn't drink last night.

At midnight I stuck my head out of the landing window and could see fireworks everywhere, it was loud but very beautiful.

Actually, shouldn't we have had an Apprentice cast reveal by now? That should render enough bile to keep me going for a few days.

It’s not a good sign when the number of empty red wine bottles outnumbers the number of guests. My poor head.

I went for a lovely afternoon stroll, and now am making a traditional steak pie for tea whilst fluffing a nice glass of red.

HAPPY NEW YEAR INDEED

Ooh I got home from my walk to discover The Sound of Music is on :disco:

Also, mine and Mandys argument last night turned out to be much needed. It's cleared the air and things are good.

I recommend everyone argues on NYE.

I was torn between Sister Act and Sound of Music so I'm watching Mean Girls instead and trying to soothe my sore throat with Quality Street.

We’ve been for a family afternoon out to Morecambe. I really do love faded crumbling old seaside towns.

Is that beautiful old art deco hotel still there? I've not been for over 30 years.

And let's face it, Morecambe isn't high on the list of places to see in however long I've got left... :D

I seem to need to have terrestrial TV dictate what I watch to avoid half hour scrolling sessions of indecision. Started watching Sister Act but then realised it’s on Disney+ so put it on without the adverts.

Theres a lot of falling down art deco buildings, it could be really pretty, it hasnt been hammered by a wave of terrible 70s construction like Blackpool

Mandy's making us watch the Years & Years / Kylie thing from last night. Is it any good or do I need wine?

it’s weirdly 23C here today, which is nice but also like not a good sign for global warming

I'm going to be very unpopular now...but I don't really like Kylie. I loved her old stuff but I find her voice annoying now. Sorry moopy :(
We've received a report about this post. The mod team are working to ascertain who this Kyle character is and whether his voice is annoying.

Our findings, and details of any subsequent punishment, will be published in due course.

For someone who didn't drink last night, my earlier post in this thread is severely typo-laden. Maybe I type better when slightly pissed. Might try that in work on Monday.

Mr F had put Sister Act on when I was in the dining room, three notes from the incidental music and I squealed "Sister Act!" and wandered in. I watched it for a good 45 minutes but the next set of adverts pissed me off. I'd only watched it on Disney+ a fortnight ago and I have it on DVD but it would never occur to me to put it on. I must be the same as you because the number of times I see something on the listings and then go to Netflix/Prime/Disney to watch without adverts is scary. Spawn got Mean Girls on BluRay for my birthday so I fired up the old PS3 on the big telly downstairs then had to wait ten minutes for the controller to charge enough for me to be able to press the X button.

Just watching the end of Sister Act 2 now because that's what was on when the telly went back onto Virgin.
