Also, Cornelia had the best song so good for her, but I was AGOG at how shoddy the performance was. Spending large chunks with her back to the camera and then whatever that moment was when she half-heartedly spins a bit of cardboard around! :D It made Sanna's I'm In Love look like something from the Monster's Ball.

Major retooling needed, I hope they get a *lot* of flack in the press. It really just was not good enough, on any level.

I felt quite sorry for Oscar, especially as he's not the most experienced of hosts. It felt like they just left him to flounder at a few points.
 
I must be getting old but I actually feel a bit sad for poor flamboyantly gay Omar and his Carola stannage.

Song was forgettable tosh, but I thought he was at least safe for AC. The old man qualifying really blindsided me.
 
The only consolation is that they never put the best songs in heat 1. I'm sure there's better to come. I hear Faith Kakembo has a tits-out banger.

I wonder if changing the venues at short notice has thrown everything into disarray. Everything felt on-the-cuff and under rehearsed.

A couple of experienced hosts really would have made all the difference. Oscar was out of his depth and as such there were awkward silences wherever he didn't have the autocue to help. They need to airlift in SDF or Petra as a matter of urgency.

I think I said it earlier but at moments it felt SUB-UK National Final and that is truly damning as know :D

The songs were better obviously, but in the sense of being thrown together at a moments’ notice
 
The change of venue certainly can't have helped; the Skane medley would have made much more sense in Malmo where Heat 1 should have been, and it would have been hard for any host to try to drum up atmosphere with only 500 fans in an empty stadium, but even so this felt like a low point in recent MF.
 
They clearly saw Kadiatou's epic opening last year and saw it as a challenge to be topped.
 
Good LORD - I still don't think they got the performance quite right for Cornelia, but WHAT a track 😍

And WHAT a transformation for her from Dance Alone!
 
AGOG and AGHAST at how Omar had the best camera work of the evening, had a last minute voting system almost designed to favour his stan fanbase, and...still came fifth! Sweden really does hate obviously gay teenagers!!!
 
Just caught up on this after being out for the evening.

The songs overall were significantly better than I was expecting from the clips. As others have said, Hold Me Closer was leagues ahead of everything else and honestly COULD WIN with a bit of a staging revamp.

Robin’s song was… fine (?!) his weakest yet by a country mile but his performance was sweaty and desperate. Omar was much better than everyone on here seemed to be indicating, and the blonde twink on a similar par.

Malou? A mess. It’s going straight on the playlist.
