Melodifestivalen 2022: Deltävling 1 - Avicii Arena

Cornelia is currently a GOOD entry that has potential to be GREAT for me. But Christ the camera needs a LOT of work. I totally get what she's going for with the aloof, emotive, almost angry performance style - but it loses a lot of impact when you get consistent camera shots of her BACK and tracking shots that clip her out midway through :D

I genuinely struggle to think of an entry with worse camera work.

If they completely rethink how it looks on screen it could become really very powerful, but not sold on it being a winner in its current iteration.
 
You can tell there was a lot of unplanned things happening, like them cutting back to Oscar after Shirley preformed so she didn’t get to talk to the sidekick Farah. Instead Shirley got to come back on together with Danne. Saade performed at a different place in the program than was meant. A lot of the scripted parts were moved around so that SVT could put the emergency voting splash screen on, etc.

Basically Oscar had to improvise the show with someone constantly talking in his hearing aid at all times :eyes:

A function in the app or something made some ppl unable to vote. The whole program was cut into pieces and glued back together from act 2 forward. It’s called the greatest production production mishap of the modern Melfest (2002-).

Mr Ag asked me at about 10pm "when does Melodifestivalen start?", to which I did not know and then saw this.

I suspect this is aimed at @VoR. No shade, my own fault, would just help a busy girl.
 
Everthing about the vote reveal for the last 3rd of the show hinged on app voting and they were short or time so they had to go back and improvise a pre-2015 results show which was never rehearsed beforehand.

I’m still impressed SVT managed to end the show ON TIME despite this “being the greatest production failure of modern Melfest”. Now if this had been Sanremo...

This went well.

Many probably thought that they would see the first part of the Melodifestivalen 2022.

Instead, viewers witnessed an unforgettable "appastrophe."

Where to start?

I do not know. When the program is over, you just sit there and yawn. What just happened?

Yes, the app happened. Constantly this damn app.

The app stopped at the beginning of the broadcast and then refused to wake up again. This meant that the last quarter of the program went to fanders.

The idea was that the heart votes would be reported in a way similar to ESC, that twelve and points would be distributed age group by age group. It seemed to be good, exciting and charged TV entertainment.

One might think that SVT has a plan b if the app is in trouble. It has done it before, to say the least. But, no, absolutely not.

Instead, it turned out the way it did - a large and cackling ultra-turkey. SVT had to go to old school and let the telephone votes determine the result.

But telephone voices are hardly the competition's most important tool today.

What benefits did the app clean the desk and go on vacation, and who lost on it? Is the result fair and correct?

Is it certain that, for example, Danne Stråhed's hallabaloo will ask Omar Rudberg if the app works?

No clue. The last word should not be said about that thing.

That the right songs still won, that is, Cornelia Jakobs and Robin Bengtsson, does not change anything in substance.

Everything is simply too bad. The failure caused the entire broadcast to capsize. The confusion in the box was completely bananas for a while.

Or as Malou Prytz sang in her contribution: banas.

I would like to know what poor Oscar Zia had in mind when he tried to lead the uncontrolled chaos. He deserves a hug and at least a diploma for a brave effort.

It was like watching extremely stressed and bad local TV. Or iron it. It is an insult to local television. The "fun hour" school has a higher minimum level, in primary school.

I have seen Anna Book sing "Samba sambero". I've seen Marlena Ernman 's opera bush hit "Moving on" with Sarah Dawn Finer . I have seen Edward Blom dance with lobsters and Jon Henrik Fjällgren call on a pre-recorded reindeer.

I thought I had experienced everything.

But I have never heard and seen so many yawn about taking back the punching bag Christer Björkman . Now apparently everything is forgiven. That says something about the "premiere" of the Melodifestivalen 2022.

Maybe it's time to call the former hairdresser from Borås already. He's probably doing more good here than in Los Angeles.

As one of Aftonbladet's readers wrote in our chat:

"He is Melodifestivalen's Tom Brady, nothing works without him."

It's funny because it's true.

Because the two qualifiers this week would have had twice as much airtime as the ones from subsequent weeks? Just trying to think like them.

Also I don’t think tinkering around with the show even more was the solution when they were clearly doing everything on the hoof!
 
I can’t stop watching it. It’s the kind of thing that will absolutely cut through and connect with SWATHES of people. And that exquisite croaky tone! Ugh am I setting myself up for heartbreak? This must be how certain factions felt about the guitar girl last year 🥴

But Malou Prytz did not celebrate.

The young artist saw the app collapse as the reason why she finished last in the competition.

Malou Prytz , 18, was really disappointed last night. She felt that SVT's app failure was the reason why she was eliminated from the competition and finished last in the competition.

- I think the younger fans vote in the app, they are not used to this to call and vote with a mobile so it may still have done a bit, she said after the broadcast.

Did you feel that it could have affected the result for you tonight?

- Yes, I actually think it may have affected it, it may be difficult to say but I would think it is, she says.

Some who celebrated, despite the pandemic causing the after-party to be canceled, were Cornelia Jakobs , 29, and Robin Bengtsson, 31.

Aftonbladet provided the finalists with a bubble. Cornelia, however, managed to get most of the noble drops in her eye, but still toasted. Then she could also be hugged by her proud father, The Poodles singer Jakob Samuel , 52, who definitely wiped a few tears of pride over her daughter's success.

It's how I feel about BOTH but I can see and hear the total mass appeal with this one.

Looking back at how last year's heats went based on just telephone votes (obviously with the caveat that things would've likely shifted if they'd been the only way people could vote like last night), things would've shaken out quite differently:

- Pretender would've gone direkt in heat 1 and Dandi dansa to AC (JessAn still 5th :()
- Rena rama ding ding would've WON heat 2 :D New Religion would've gone to AC instead in fourth place
- Tusse and Charlotte still direkt from heat 3, but Beat of Broken Hearts would've come sixth and Om allting skiter sig taken the other AC spot in fourth
- Clara Klingenström would've won heat four and Eric Saade gone to AC along with Tess Merkel (!)

Poor Omar!

They were going to do a whole Eurovision style voting sequence.
 
Fun fact, Robin Bengtsson now joins a very elite group of acts with a 100% track record of going direkt till finalen since the semis were introduced in 2002.

I feel like Mariette will basically always be able to go direkt just on the basis of professionalism, but - unless she comes back really trying to win - is probably condemned to shrug results from the public in the final from now on.

Mariette will always come back trying to win. Her last two enties where just a bit I’ll advised.
 
I believe all four plus Sanna are likely to come back and qualify DTF again.


What do you guys think about their chances of winning Mello or ESC?
