Morning!

Sun's out, I pretty much have the office to myself and I'm feeling weirdly alright.

Can't last.

Another morning of sunshine and warmth before it turns to shit tomorrow. And apparently sleet and MINUS TWO later in the week!

Hopefully you didn’t pack those cardigans away too early?

Good morning. Another glorious morning here, and I have been for a run and dropped Shannon at work and young Diarmuid at school and am going to head to Edinburgh shortly for a spot of retail therapy to get some new threads for Summer.

I didn't sleep all night cause I was anxious how much it will cost to fix whatever the problem is with my oven. So I brought an electrician first thing in the morning who diagnosed it's the oven not my main switch and then referred me to an oven specialist who told me that the problem is with one of the two electric resistors, took it out and he's going to bring a replacement and get it fixed "sometime soon". But all in all, I don't mind waiting cause it's not as expensive as I thought. Am off to sleep. Have a good day!

Just came back from an eye test and apparently my eyesight is … better than it was four and a half years ago?

@Star - is this something that can happen because i’m inclined to get a second opinion before investing in glasses?

Another day sat in the flat with the plumber and pets :(

I'm running out of things to watch.

If you’re short sighted, your eyes can improve as you get older because people tend to become long sighted as they age. At least that’s what my optician told me.

If you were slightly nearsighted it could get corrected by age as we normally get farsighted by age.

(I hope I used the right terms, I had too look them up)

I see someone beat me to it. And turns out google translate gave me the wrong translations. :D

You can't blame me, half of these STUPID HOUSEWIVES look like REAL PEOPLE. I mean :stopthefuck: is clearly Jennifer Saunders for starters

I was walking to the bus station and THIS WOMAN walks up with a TV crew asking if I want to talk about the government ending free lateral flow tests on Morning Live.

I LOOK LIKE DOGSHIT LOVE WHAT DO YOU THINK.

I’ve just had my first of 3 interviews over the next 24 hours. Very CULT LIKE energy from the company, quite UNNATURAL smiling from everyone and twinkly music being beamed in to every room.

There was a lot of chat about HEALTH and WELLNESS and HOLISTIC VALUES, and I had to pretend I’m not a BIN FIRE of a HUMAN BEING, for well over an hour.
I might put that we exclusive hire BIN FIRE human beings next time I’m recruiting.

That sounds a bit shit. :(

If you asked me about it 2 months ago I'd have probably broken down into tears but I'm now battle hardened. It is what it is, we're a startup, in publishing which is notoriously hard, and in a new industry that is heavily influenced by regulation. Because of the latter, or lack of previously, the whole market slowed down a bit over the last year. We're on the precipice of it all being sorted, but that causes hesitancy in our customers. We've put everything back into the business to grow, rather than being conservative and having a rainy day fund, because we're impulsive and a bit reckless. It'll probably be fine, because I'm a lucky mixture of spawny and creative, and when it does pull off I'll be talking myself up as a business genius, but right now, its keeping me on my toes :D

That said, all of our competitors who launched around the same time as us have already gone under, so maybe I really am already a genius. Its fairly normal, I think, to be cutting it this fine at this stage. I just need someone to hurry up and give me a big cheque of investment money so I can concentrate on growth, not paying the rent.

Couple that with the fact that one of my freelance clients nearly DIED last week and has had to put a big chunk of my personal income on hold, 10 days before I go on a big family holiday, its fair to say my weed consumption of late has been VERY medical.

I was moaning about all this last week and threatening to jack it all in, Ms Ron looked at me and in the most condescending tone shes ever used said "What are you going to do, get a job?"
