I thought that once about someone I encountered years ago on Gaydar. This is where hearing the voice and the words is essential to making a reasonable assessment. In this case the voice turned out to be THIN AND SHRILL and there was also quite a lot of babbling. Naturally I couldn’t bear it and blurted I DIDN’T EXPECT YOU TO SOUND LIKE THAT. Some yarn was then spun about a nose operation but I’m no fool
