FUNNILY ENOUGH I was having a little google earth browse earlier (as you do) and having a scout round the southern islands like Amami, Okinawa, Ishigaki etc... Are they to the Japanese like the Caribbean Islands are for Americans and the Mediterranean is for Brits? Is it all tropical climates and tourist beaches or is there more to them like trade and industry? It's just because you never hear about them in Europe as holiday destinations (or destinations at all really), yes they're far but so is Maldives and people go there? Anyway from the little I read some of them sound gorgeous! HAVE YOU BEEN?
