Still, we were more at war then, then we are now.
That's the thing; yes there's a war going on at the moment but we're not actually in it, we're just talking about it from a distance. It shouldn't be any excuse.

Turns out it’s that stupid birthday singsong in the cabinet room he’s been fined for. He’s issued a half-arsed apology and says he’s going to “get on with the job.”

Do we know whether that’s the end of it?

He seems to be assuming he won’t get more as the police continue going through the other parties.

Not the end of it, and he isn't ruling out more fines when asked. They're literally just going through the parties in order, and he's *definitely* going to get fined for the massive ABBA party he had in his flat the night Dom Cummings got sacked if he got fined for this. His defence was that he was 'only there for ten minutes' and then worked in another room in the flat while people were singing The Winner Takes It All so loudly people could hear it from two streets over!

Can’t wait to be fumming tomorrow over the Express and Fail’s distraction headlines

Can only imagine the emergency brainstorm today to come up with the most creative headline

Things aren't looking particularly great for them, even after they just decide to 'solve' this by doing nothing when he gets another five fixed penalty notices.

It's just fucking awful. These people are the government, the actual government and they're just playing power games among themselves while people starve and freeze. We're led by the least among us.

This is the reality Britain chose for itself in 2026. We have a government that panders to the worst in our society in order to stay in power, which means that they need to jettison anyone with scruples enough to oppose that plan of action. What we’re left with are the absolute bottom of the barrel.

How quaint - a minister has resigned:

“I regret that recent disclosures lead to the inevitable conclusion that there was repeated rule breaking, and breaches of the criminal law, in Downing Street. I have again, with considerable regret - come to the conclusion that the scale, context and nature of those breaches mean that it would be inconsistent with the rule of law for that conduct to pass with constitutional impunity, especially when many in society complied with the rules at great personal cost, and others were fined or prosecuted for similar, and sometimes apparently more trivial, offences. It is not just a question of what happened in Downing Street, or your own conduct. It is also, and perhaps more so, the official response to what took place. As we obviously do not share that view of these matters, I must ask you to accept my resignation.”
