This is confusing though - that Music Week quote above is only from nearly two weeks ago, yet yesterday they published this

But just to make things really confusing, Running Up That Hill’s overall consumption is actually down 5.1% week-on-week (remember that last week its high streaming volume was then heavily penalised by ACR). So it’s No.1 may not actually be for its biggest streaming week. For the record, the Kate Bush classic has 771,568 sales post-1994, and 165,762 this year alone (the latter figure apparently includes one picture disc vinyl edition from Record Store Day 2013 that was finally shifted to a fan last week).

So if it recorded 771k post 1994, plus the 250k @jyxz mentioned, that would put it over 1m, as @The Anti-Dubsden suggests

Why should it suddenly have jumped so much? Have they streaming sales previously calculated on ACR been reallocated to SCR? Surely not.
ACR only applies to the weekly chart. All streams count equally towards the total sales of all tracks.

RUTH is officially a million "seller"

It was more a slow crawl up the hill, but finally this song holds the position it has always deserved.

Can we get something like 'the Big Sky' to #1 next, do you think?

Well done Kate Bush on one of the best #1s in many a year

(Still ‘only’ a 9/10)

As mod I'm completely objectively considering how to deal with this report.

Apparently as a kid, Babooshka was the first song I recognised on TV and would dance to

Apart from confirming my gay card at a very early age, does this save me from any mopsy hysteria?
