Well, I wouldn't have Steps as part of the soundtrack. I'd end up vomiting. I'd go for a bit Piaf instead and a side of strong black coffee to go with my fag and fizzy orange pop.
 
Just come for a stroll along the promenade. Rather windy, but there's some kind of lifeguard training course happening on the beach which is quite diverting :horny:
 
I now have that Travis song in my head whilst trying to listen to Madonna's 'Waiting'. This is not a good mash-up.
 
I've been channelling my inner Nigella Lawson and eating spoonful's of a leftover homemade lentil and chickpea curry straight from the fridge.

I'm blaming my slight hangover.

(I'm FAR too old for this kind of behaviour)
 
@Rachey, do you think you'll carry on living where you do (or by the sea, at least) forever?
 
I totally forgot about the racist Rupert character. It's hardly surprising.

I was reminded of low key Chinese racism when I heard the changed lyrics of Spice Up Your Life this morning.

I thought the same yesterday after seeing Blossoms & Melanie C.

Melting Pot remains the high point of it though.

Mandy and I have spoken about moving off the island in the future, more than likely Wales, but still by the coast as much as possible.

I'd love to live in the Gower, but it's £££.

Go inland though and a lot of Wales is very reasonable indeed.

Yeah it's really well priced. We love Brecon and I could easily live there, but I do think id miss the sea. Although I do like the canal.
 
I know that red thing LOOKS like a condemned sign, but it's actually their version of a blue plaque and it's commemorating the birth of Lisa Scott-Lee in that very building however many years ago it was :shock:
 
Apparently voted the worst place in the UK to live. Poor Rhyl.
 
@lolly we did some browsing at the shopping centre at Cribbs. I see what you mean about it being soulless. Although for us it was a novelty because we have nothing like that on the island.

For me, I actually would always have said yes. I love where I live- the juxtaposition of city and seaside is what I love. It’s busy with stuff going on, but I can be swimming within 3 minutes walk of my front door and in London within an hour and a half.

Given the fact I fucking hate Britain, though, recently started discussing whether we want to move abroad for a while once our parents are gone, though. I can do my job anywhere and the thought of being in France for a few years really appeals.
 
Just read @Rachey’s reply too. It’s all about the sea. I couldn’t live inland. I love it too much. The beach life really is a different one. I spend all of the summer there. Evenings on the beach with a picnic/bbq are the norm in my life (at least 3-4 times a week) and I’m so grateful for that. I swim every morning and just love the breeze, the air, the smell.

Also, I’m sat here typing on the sofa and can see the sea and that makes me so happy.

Admittedly also the Isle of Wight, so swings and roundabouts, but…

The beach life isn’t for me as far as living right on it, but I do very much miss having the beaches/lakes within the city I live so I can head there on a weekend/weeknight.
 
I'm obviously biased, but I cannot understand why people wouldn't love being by the sea. It's so pretty and there's so much to see. I love looking out my kitchen window and seeing the cruise ships and hovercraft.

Having said that, I'd be just as happy having a view of fields and hills...but I'd need to be within a 20 minute walk to the beach.
