Why are they doing a Christmas themed challenge and knitwear runway in MIDSUMMER?!
 
That was not an interesting skit - I know a lot of you didn't like the Fairytale Justice episode, which I enjoyed, so I can't IMAGINE what you think about this :D

The Viv did nail it, it was good to see her doing the hybrid old Hollywood starlet instead of Jinkx inevitably doing the same. Jinkx was sort of hamstrung really, but she just did the pig girl again didn't she? I liked the demon voice though.

Raja coming top 2 made more sense in the end, she's no Meryl Streep but she sold that role. Jaida, Trinity did their usual decent but fairly 1D perfs, and Monet and Shea appeared as themselves. How many roles has Shea done where she's just side-eyeing and talking... with pauses...? I was a bit :D at Monet acting (speaking with a higher tone) and being told that just her normal voice was enough :D

As for the runways, Viv was amazing, Yvie is doing great, the others were decent, Jinkx was... knitted? I couldn't read knitwear. Raja's looked great but knitted?? Shea was confusing, I get the African tribal vibe (because she's done it a few times) but that bowling ball in a plastic dish on her head?

Finally we are getting a few decent lip syncs, and I was happy to see Raja get it, Viv was just throwing stuff at a wall I think. And I was really getting tired of the Viv/Jinkx storyline
 
Just wanted to think about the stats for stars and blocks
Jaida - 3 stars & 1 block
Jinkx - 2 stars & 2 blocks
Monet - 1 star & 1 block
Raja - 2 stars & 0 blocks
Shea - 1 star & 1 block
Viv - 2 stars & 1 block
Trinity - 2 stars & 1 block
Yvie - 2 stars & 1 block

So if they really were playing for fairness' sake (which Viv aside they have been), I guess Raja and Jaida are the most blockable with 2 more stars than blocks, followed by Yvie, Trinity and Viv.

It WAS actually decent logic from Jaida that blocking someone who is guaranteed in the top 4 IS a waste of a block. Although Jaida isn't quite guaranteed in the top 4 yet.
That said, as it stands with 3 regular episodes left, it's hard to see Jaida getting bumped - if Jinkx, Raja, Trinity, Viv and Yvie all get their third stars over the next two weeks, it'll be a 5-way tie, that can't fully be broken in the last episode.

BUT I'm guessing we will probably get another charity star moment, and some Mario Party fuckery at the end - maybe they'll all get a charity star to give anonymously in an AS3-esque finale
 
Oof, that challenge was hard to watch. They really need a shake-up on the writing team. It's just the same old stuff. The improv challenges are actually far funnier

I feel like at this point the character descriptions have been the same for about a decade, just a few words changed to shoehorn it into the challenge. "A Regina George type" - GROUNDBREAKING!

Pleased Raja got a win, though I was mildly annoyed he didn't think to mime sucking off Viv during the brass solo in Super Freak. :D
 
Yeah, not a great challenge. I mean they could at least try to make these scenarios funny, but they don't, so.. :eyes:
 
You know something's wrong with the writing team when an All Star cast does better in the improv challenge. In fact, season after season, these scripts are shit.

Monet is the weakest queen for me. Her runways are consistently uninspired. Her approach always seems to be "How can I shoehorn the theme into my comfort zone?"

Viv and Raja were definitely the Top 2. Both their runways were phenomenal.
 
Regardless, I think this season is securely, and predictably, the best quality drag we've seen from the show.

I do kinda want some petty drama though lol but only if it's legit.
 
Zola is a 10/10 movie that everyone should watch. It’s a hoot.

The episode was you know also there. Viv did great, everyone else didn’t get much to do.
 
After watching this challenge and the terrible acting I’m convinced that the War on Christmas is a real thing. :square:

No really, aside from Viv and Monet, I thought they all did a terrible job and were more annoying than entertaining (especially hated Trinity’s and Jinkx’ characters and the way they did them). By now I actively hate Mean Girls.

The runway however was great and I thought they all looked good, especially Yvie and Raja.

I still think she’s right though, it would be more strategic to block either those who have two stars or even those you know are about to get some (Shea and Monet).

And thank God she didn’t because the comeback of the big pink furry box turned this into the best* Untucked episode of the season so far.

*still rather boring.
 
I was thinking “isn’t she an Oscar nominated director?” But I couldn’t find any trace of that.

Then I realised I was thinking of “Roma” :D

Yeah it’s about the same time I usually finish my lessons for the day, I’d say around 5pm in Japan so that’s like 9am UK I guess?
 
They usually send an email when a new episode is out.

Hmm you’re right, I think I only got it for the premier of AS7 and France. During UK vs World I got it every week.
 
Another ok episode. I hope they give them a makeover or a roast challenge to excell at. Given there are only 3 challenges left; I'm starting to worry we won't get one of them.
 
If they must do a make-over then I'd love them to get some week 1s in for it. Kelly Mantle to show the world that drag IS her profession and that she is VERY versatile I'm sure as well.

Roast simply has to happen, please.
