Heated, Thique, Pure / Honey and Summer Renaissance are gay afI'm half way in and up to the Virgo song. Lush, slick, dense production and braindead lyrics. A beautiful empty vesselso far.
I wouldn't say it's gay AT ALL unless it goes of at a tangent in the second half.

Plastic Of The Sofa and Pure/Honey sound amazing after a quick flick
The so called gay section at the end sounds like one song repeated 3 times.
Cuff It (which has promise but only as a pastiche) and the poor Donna Summer sample, and of course the single, are the only ones that reference black dance culture to me. Of course the Afro Beats songs do but everyone’s doing that at the moment, there’s nothing interesting or celebratory about them.
I mean I’ve barely had a proper listen so I’m hoping it’ll reveal itself. But this isn’t a Renaissance.

I’ve heard most of her stuff. She’s not a genius. Her choices are creative but there’s absolutely nothing new or progressive about the music. It’s all taken from somewhere else.
Lots of artists do it and some do it better than others.
And her being a twat cancels a lot of it out for me.

On first listen I wouldn’t personally describe it as an endless party. It seems quite plodding in places.
But I really need to stop with the commentary until I’ve listened properly. This is all just FIRST GLANCE speculation.

Finally it's finished! Well that was rather dull on first listen. I now understand why 'Break My Soul' stands out. The Virgo song was quite listenable and 'Pure/Honey' is my favourite. I have to be honest, I won't be rushing back to this one - it'll probably be everywhere anyway. I think I'm going to stick with Bananarama for now.

I'm That Girl is a REALLY BORING OPENER!
Cozy has a somewhat interesting beat. although she's in a habit of repeating random words in spoken voice that doesn't sound as fierce as I think she thinks it does Alien Superstar DOES have a hot beat. It's growing... she sounds pretty good on the sung/spoken verse and that "chorus" that follows is very airy and lovely.
