HELLO.

It's warm, rainy and muggy here in Glesga and I feel like I could sleep for a month.
 
Didn't we have a discussion here years ago about which day of the week was worst? I always said Mondays but I remember a lot of people argued Tuesday.

I was wrong. Tuesdays suck.

I used to hate Tuesdays, but I can't remember why. It must have been work related.

Now I quite like most days as my days vary constantly.

Mandy had a bit of a meltdown last night. It was very strange..she's been grumpy for ages and last night it all came to a head. Turns out she's very stressed doing two stressful jobs. She cried for ages. I've only ever seen her very maybe 5 times.

We also decided our relationship has got into a bit of a rut and we need to make more effort with each other.

Opening the shop has definitely had a negative affect on our relationship in some ways.
 
I know working together (never mind owning the business) would be a nightmare for us.
 
Started raining here. But it’s still so warm that if you put a shirt or a jacket on to keep dry, you'll just get even more wet from sweating. I suppose that's what umbrellas are for.

We don't work together much, one day a week at most. But we constantly talk about the shop when we're together. So we're going to stop!
 
I'm quite chilly today. First time in weeks. It's only 19 degrees.

Yes, as much as it isn't for us, I know quite a few couples who do work together or run businesses etc. I guess it's finding a way to make it work for you.
 
Oh and sorry @Rachey, didn't we float me possibly coming down next Friday? You've probably forgotten about it already (as did I at first), but I'm afraid I can't. I've got a funeral to attend.

I imagine it's like having kids, the shop becomes your all and you lose yourself a bit. Definitely need to take time out for yourselves.

Absolutely this! Yes I feel like it is quite similar. It's hard not to make everything we do about the shop. But we definitely need to try.

:side-eye: Mandy actually said the Westlife concert we went to was in her top 5 best concerts. And she didn't even realise she liked them.

We're in the New Forest for the week. Last night we were out to dinner in Salisbury and I just found out so stressful with them. You spend £50 just to hoof down a meal as quick as you can so that they don't make such a mess!
 
Hot take but the drinks are TOO STRONG here, I had 3 gin and tonics last night and I’m dying.

Are they generally pretty well behaved? I often see parents out for dinner with kids and the kids are sat Infront of an iPad, and although people judge, I can totally see why they do it just to keep them quiet!

Are you camping?

I remember those days only too well. Your two are a lot closer together than mine too which is lovely but it must be an absolute NIGHTMARE at times.
 
I'm holidaying in glamorous LLANIDLOES this week - eat shit Sitges! - and so I asked one of our resident barflys to fill in for me on my pub quiz hosting duties last night.

I wrote the main quiz for him, but he said he had a fun idea for a tiebreaker game if needed. Without thinking to ask what he had in mind I was like "sure, knock yourself out".

Messaged him this morning to ask how everything went and got this reply:

"All good. For a brief moment I was worried a team of black people might make it to the tiebreak round and I'd have to ask them to wear monkey tails but that never happened thankfully."

Bless them they are generally good kids, but at times they just want to play and not sit still. Last night I found myself telling them off a lot and then when I went to bed I felt bad for it nexus they really weren't that bad. But yes if I put an ipad out that would have kept them busy.

They bicker non stop, it's so exhausting at the moment! It's constant 'he did this' or 'she looked at me funny'. On the plus side the small age gap does mean they get on well/ play with each other well at times.

we’ve been together for 27 years and have had a business together for 22 .. it’s just made us thick as thieves .. we’ve gone through a lot of ups and downs but always survived ( business and relationship) because it just feels like it was meant to be
