Ava Max - Million Dollar Baby

I'm scared that she'll forever remain a second rate Dua Lipa. But I'm stanning her all the way.

she needs to snatch a hit with this one since the album is coming in October and Problem basically flopped.

This bitch doesn’t NEED hits, they just happen inexplicably and we are here for it :disco:

So, apparently this samples "Can't Fight the Moonlight"?

Also, there was some rubbish TikTok rumor that Ava is the great niece of MARGARET THATCHER :D!

I heard she's descended from Jesus and Marie Antoinette. :disco:

I still only know three Ava Max songs and they are all ripoffs (oh sorry, samples) of other songs

She was off on the wrong foot with that dire Barbie Girl one

This is the Moopy Beef I didn't know I needed.

Deer Popcorn GIF

I’m not against the idea of using Barbie Girl but it seemed to miss the point that the original was a pisstake

The problem I tend to have with Ava Max, and this song is the epitome of it, is that I'd rather just listen to the song she's stealing interpolating.

If you need me I'll be listening to Can't Fight the Moonlight

I was in a car with a friend the other day and some song with female vox came on the radio sampling some famous song and I asked her if it's Ava Max. We never found out.

This mystery will haunt you until you die :(

What’s her next sample going to be, taking bets now.

I’m going to say either We Like to Party, Better off Alone or Who let the dogs out?

I will literally kill her.

But I'm thinking "My Neck My Back" (plz Lord make it happen)

This is BRILLIANT! Her best single for a while.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they wrote this and then thought - ‘fuck it sounds like Can’t Fight the Moonlight’ and then went from there, as it’s quite subtle. @Rita I also hear a bit of Jade there too. I mean, the melody is TWO notes, it’s not exactly original. But overall it really works.

I like this quite a lot after a couple of listens. I'm not sure it is obvious in the way of her bigger slow burn hits though.
