Queen Elizabeth II DEAD

I also wasn’t sexually assaulted but there was a fight not far behind us between two women, requiring police intervention.

AND a mentally unwell man shouting at a large section of the queue for ages about how Brexit was all our fault and that we would mark his words in a few weeks time because he was a trader who makes more money than all of us! This was at 6am and he was all suited and booted. Must’ve been out on the lash all night and taken lots of drugs.

We did not see the King or Prince William who arrived on the bridge about half an hour after us, silly bastards.

Yeah, get in line and queue with everyone else, Phil and Holly. WE'RE ALL EQUAL!

I see the royal kids now standing guard. How old are the Wessex kids now?

They're largely unknown, but now they're being starred at by thousands of strangers, while guarding their nans coffin. It's REALLY QUITE ODD.

If he was a decent person he should say “I know and I’m sorry”, but he believes they are serfs as much as they do
THIS.

I’d love it if he acknowledged it or said something. I know he can’t but I really don’t believe he thinks any other way than how you’ve put it.

Now even with this, why are Anne's kids at the end/ back?

Did you like him before he became King? I’m assuming you did as otherwise why would you be giving him the benefit of the doubt? He was a horrible old snob before, and he is still the same person. Yes, his Mother has just died and to that I sympathise but it doesn’t make me like him anymore or want to give him the benefit of the doubt? Why would I? I couldn’t be doing with him before and I can’t be doing with him now King or no King.
Didn't pay much attention to him to really notice if he's always been like that. He seemed alright when he came to open our new building when I worked for a charity a while back, that's about all I know. Mostly I was still irritated from seeing Twitter ghouls celebrating the Queen's death (if you didn't like her fine, but come on) so the same ones piling in with a trimmed no-context ink pot clip, naturally had me rolling my eyes a bit. I don't think a life of luxury and the position of king, if I even wanted it, would make me any less of a mess when my mother eventually goes.

Maybe I partly sympathise knowing that I can also be a cunt under emotional stress

The benefit of doubt is fading at this point though

TBH though this is all becoming a lot more like what I expected when first responding to the thread to express surprise at how nice and non confrontational everyone was being about her death

As misguided as the anger towards “queue jumpers” Phil and Holly is (I would imagine they probably were there to film for This Morning), I’m enjoying it nonetheless. Long overdue.

All I can say is that I think tory Britain has creeped on to the UK’s way of thinking and I pray it won’t stick. How anyone can admire a monarchy who have and will live a life of luxury in a country that has so many living hand to mouth is beyond me when they live with such great wealth but yet still still take taxes off the poorest working people to live a lap of luxury,

Well that queuing experience was the stuff of nightmares. I thought it would never end! My lower back is in perpetual pain and I might as well have rocks for shoes such is the torture my feet have been put through.

11 hours all in. It was solemn but also a bit surreal. Westminster Hall is a sight to behold.

Never again will I queue like that though. Walking past the poor souls yet to even go over Lambeth Bridge on my way home honestly sent shivers down my spine.

watching this from outside of the UK honestly is a surreal experience to say the least ..what is going on? I didn’t grow up in a monarchy but like a bit of pomp every now and then .. but this is just beyond.

Many of us in the UK are asking the same question!

This topic needs 274 posts to beat MJ.

It will probably do that, what with over 24 hours left including the funeral. I somewhat suspect we haven't heard the last of her Majesty either.
