So the King is hosting a drinks and nibbles party THE NIGHT BEFORE THE QUEENS FUNERAL.

Can't wait to see Jacinda and Dr Jill turning up tomorrow with smeared make up, one shoe between them and hair that Princess Anne would judge as needing conditioner.

Oh, I hope they make a night of it. A late one for a late one.

I'm watching the feed from her lying-in-state. Fascinating to see the variety of responses. Some people seem genuinely upset, someone blew her a kiss, a lot of people bowing (one chap with medals mouthed "Ma'am" as he did so, which I found oddly moving) and some people just shuffling on by. There's a surprising amount of children.

Maybe it's me having lived in a REPUBLIC for the last 3 and half years but the whole thing really is verging on bizarre.

I missed a National Moment Of Reflection?

What the fuck else have people been doing for the last 10 days?

By all means endure 11-20 hours of physical torment and intense boredom to gaze at a wooden box for 30 seconds if that’s your thing, but I genuinely think dragging children along should constitute a form of abuse.
