There may have been less choice back then for most people which artificially boosted terrestrial channels (the days of shows getting cancelled if they dropped to NINE MILLION, etc), but equally while BBC ratings are low, many shows make up figures that *almost* look like ratings of days gone by, after 28 days catch up. I mean not exactly but that's sort of right, is it @lolly ? For bigger dramas anyway. I imagine whatever the funeral loses out via choices, will be made up via that. To a point

I still can't fathom 40 million+. But it has been everywhere. Maybe 25 million BBC1, over 30 adding the rest. Hope Ar Di stays firm atop the funeral chart though
Unfortunately barb don't publish the 28 day figures any more, at least for free, so I don't see them since they stopped earlier this year.

Certainly the big dramas did get a significant boost, but I don't think it's true to say it's almost like the old days. Back when I did get the 28 day figures it was still pretty rare for shows to get 10m+.

So this thread overtook the MJ thread before the ceremony started, I wonder how big it’ll get in the end.

I guess we won’t overtake the Wordle thread though

Yeah this is REALLY boring now. We'd had our fill of the procession by the time the old girl got to the Abbey, there was no need for this extra 80 minute one after. They could have buried her by now and be starting on the buffet at the leisure centre hall by this point.

Oh that's a shame, although yes I did think I was exaggerating a bit, but at least it's a way to claw back some figures lost via conventional means which this surely must. I mean it's more of a "turn on the telly" affair but I was viewing on and off via iplayer and imagine a lot of curious types did the same.
