I dream of travelling to Eurovision on the Norwich to Liverpool Lime Street :disco:

oh shite is it gonna be the 27th? I took a PUNT and booked non-refundable accommodation for the two previous weekends 🥴🥴

(in the worst hostel in Glasgow it turns out when I read the reviews post-booking so maybe for the best lol x)

Isn’t it 6-8 weeks they need? Even if it was the 27th, they’d still need the Hydro empty by the week before the 21st.

Eurovision fans can be so stupid.

I think the really stupid one in this scenario is Olly Murs.

Are hotels already ridiculously booked up before there's even been an announcement?

Eurovision LOONS really do TAKE THE BISCUIT :D

Very much so! The only available hotels were in the thousands a night when I looked

More rooms will be released closer to the time. It’s always this way. I haven’t booked later than late Feb/March for years and I’ve always been fine.

I wonder if the price will crash once 90% of people fail to get tickets (or better still, if Liverpool is announced).

Hotels are block booked by accommodation bureaus for delegations, far in advance, and they cancel the ones they don't need.

There are quite a lot of new hotels being built in Glasgow that should be open by May, I have no idea how it works in terms of them taking bookings in advance of opening but maybe those will also become available?

VoR can you do a dummy's guide for us amateurs please :D

I recall we booked our Turin accommodation for the correct dates the day after Italy won :D:disco:

* Don't panic book - if you shop around you'll find something.
* Don't fixate on getting a finals ticket as the be-all and end-all. Go for semi or Jury tickets instead, you'll have just as much fun for far less stress/cash
* There are plenty of really fun alternative ways to watch the final in the host city. I haven't been in the arena for the finals since 2016!

The OVO Hydro website has just deleted the Olly Murs (21st Apr) and Andre Rieu (27th May) dates from the website
The April/May dates are back up again, maybe they saw my post :D

Thanks, semis are a no no if you can’t book time off in the week though. OH WELL

This year is surely going to be a worse bunfight than ever- all those annoying straights who suddenly love Eurovision thanks to OUR SAM.
