You’d think any smart hotel would’ve held back a large chunk of their rooms knowing it could be a possibility.

They did! Some rooms won't have been released yet. Not just because it was financially smart, but because they will have been asked to.

Well there are certainly BARGAINS TO BE HAD!

I’m sure that’s due to some algorithm losing its mind but surely you could buy a HOUSE in parts of Liverpool for that much?

Do we know WHAT WON IT FOR LIVERPOOL over Glasgow in the end?

The bid. Eurovision/BBC were apparently blown away by how much Liverpool came prepared, they expected nobody would come close to Glasgow’s. It threw everyone and that’s why it was dragged out.

It came down to logistics in the end, both had issues in terms of being able to block their arenas and facilities out for 3 weeks and there were certain things that were out of Glasgow’s hands (Liverpool had similar issues but not as severe)

Thieving Scouse bastards, we'll see how happy everyone is when McCartney is honking out Lady Madonna while their cars get robbed.

Pretty sure that's illegal. Or at least against the rules of whatever platform is was booked on (Air B&B, Booking.com etc). I hope Catherine and her apartment gets banned

Hoping for NICE WEATHER that week otherwise it’ll be quite depressing won’t it :D

Out of interest what are you guys prepared to pay for accommodation? Perhaps @funky could rent out sofas, floors, wardrobes in his house to crash in for the night at £500 per person?

There is precedent for hotels and nightclubs on boats - I believe Sweden did both in 2016!

I managed to get confirmation today that loads of hotels have not released most of their rooms yet. All the ones that were involved in the bid, in and around the ACC centre. They had to guarantee the rooms for staff, crew, talent and their entourages, Eurovision guests and so on. Once all those rooms have been allocated, the other rooms will be released.

All the ones that have rooms going for thousands were not involved in the bid. They’re doing that off their own back.

No word on when they’ll be released. Really they should do a general on sale date so everyone knows when they’re gone they’re gone, but I don’t know if that’s what happens.

Oh I see the poll has been reset and trust that all NO voters are BANNED FOR LIFE :disco:

Yeah surely no one is booking these ropey Airbnbs for 2k a night, when a hotel and car to Manchester is less than a quarter of that as a WORST CASE SCENARIO.
