Genuinely starting to think we'll be going to the polls within the next 6 months now. I was working on the basis that the Tories would hang onto power at any cost but it's becoming apparent that the cost created by Truss and Kwarteng is too high for some.
 
Just watching her earlier with Penny Mordaunt sat next to her thinking "how the fuck wasn't it not me?"
 
What an utterly fascinating (and of course, worrying time) - she is basically running a minority administration at this point. I fail to see what legislation she could possibly get through the Commons at this stage.
 
PMQs was a painful but fascinating watch! Even the front benchers couldn't seem to fake being enthused. :D
 
They've sunk in my constituency, despite having an MP from 1997 to 2015. Labour are favourites to beat the Tory scum MP here. Not really sure what's going on everywhere else.

They got spooked after 2019 election (where they increased vote share by 4% but lost a seat) so went with a very, very safe but dull choice. Bear in mind also that they were down to 11 mps (now 14 after by elections) so there wasn’t a huge pool of candidates.
It’s also incredibly hard for them to get much media coverage…even their conference which gets some publicity was cancelled because of the queen !

The Lib Dems were often a tactical vote- I have even voted Lib Dem in my constituency before as prior to 2017, it was a straight up Lib Dem vs Tory fight, with Labour a distant third. The mobilisation of the youth vote which happened under Corbyn changed that massively here- Portsmouth South has a massive student population- and we became the only "red dot" in a sea of blue. Once people realised they didn't need to tactically vote, it changed even further- even with the background of the Labour wipeout in 2017, our MP increased his vote as the previous Lib Dem tactical voters moved to their actual home, Labour.
 
Despite her majority (and her reputation), I do think Mordaunt's seat must be one of the most vulnerable. It neighbours the only red seat in the south east which holds a strong Labour majority with a very popular MP, it's traditionally a working class area with a considerable amount of Labour support (it had been Labour since 1997 before she got voted in) and in that kind of area, her name is associated with all of this government's nonsense, even if she is not directly involved. At this point, I can't see her winning...
