This was a seminal album in my teen years. I look back at the era with such nostalgia these days.

And let's be clear: StrippedTina was groundbreaking. All of the songs on this album gave us the woke agenda before it became a thing.

There is a bit of filler (this is Chrissy, after all - restraint is not part of her brand), but the highs are stratospheric.

Can't Hold Us Down is that gender equality girl person. Walk Away is the second best ballad of her career (You Lost Me says hi). Dirrty did that. Beautiful is iconic and important, and we cannot help but stan.

Not a 10 in reality, but a 10 emotionally.

As if sales were a measure of quality then or now! It spawned four top five hits in the States including multiple #1s. It is probably eligible for 9xp in reality.

The better question is how Lotus is certified Gold! Pretty sure it was off the Billboard 200 within a few weeks after an already lackluster debut.

Taking a look at the album tracklist now it doesn't seem so bad; I remember liking Love For All Seasons, So Emotional, and Blessed, the rest was forgettable.

Even Bionic’s gold certification is… questionable. Pretty sure it only cleared 300k within a few years of its release and I doubt it sold more than a few thousand since. Must be the streams!!

I don’t regularly listen to it, but I remember the debut being rather listenable although basic. Didn’t have the towering highs of the BOMT singles but inoffensive on the whole.

It was missing at least an E-Mail My Heart and a comedy album track a la Soda Pop.
