The first time round after every occasion he FUCKED UP morons were proclaiming how he’ll CHANGE.

If Boris gets in I’m joining the protests. There has to be some cause and effect against someone like him being able to exploit something like this with no regard for everything that has just happened

They’re acting like “oh we tried something different, it didn’t work, so we’ll go back to what we were doing” and just completely ignoring the anger, rage, disappointment, frustration of a nation. Completely ambivalent to everything happening outside their bubble, even though they fucking caused most of it.

When you think it can’t possibly get worse.

I’m so fucking done with this corrupt, broken country.

Johnson is a tinpot populist in the mould of Trump, Silvio Berlusconi, Jair Bolsonaro, Viktor Orban etc. I fear he's going to be poisoning our politics (and swinging in and out of office) for a long time to come...

Looking at this from the fairly (for the time being ) safe havens of France it seems impossible that that utterly despicable person will be PM again, after everything that has happened. I don't understand why there is not a huge uproar ? Why does the general public let itself manipulate so easily? in France people take to the street for FAR less.
 
British people are really quite stupid on the whole. don't underestimate the power of a narrative, even without truth. Boris has always been a master at spinning those.
 
Yeah again...I struggle massively with the idea of Boris coming back and unifying the party/winning a general election(when 148 :D :D) of his own MPs voted against him and he left office with worst approval ratings than Corbyn at the last general election. Weren't we 3 months ago talking about how its better for labour the longer he stays?

Even if he wins I can see there being massive uproar within the party amongst the less insane who know he's damaged goods. We're in a different place to 2019.

I really don't think that British people are stupid- Please correct me if I'm wrong but I've always wondered if the rigid class system in the UK gives people the idea that they neither have a voice nor the right to react against what they perceive as unjust... not only do they seem to accept that there is a class system, they actively sustain it. They seem to very easily accept authority as something carved in stone, which is why a 100 people can decide on the re-election of a disgraced and corrupt Prime Minister without much trouble.
 
Boris won in 2019 entirely because of Brexit and successfully convincing loads of naturally Labour voters that only he could get it done. It IS done now to all those voters. He doesn't have their vote any more, they have no reason to vote for him any longer, and they will remember what has happened since.

I can well believe that a significant amount of swivel eyed loons among the Tory party could be stupid enough to think he's the answer, but I have faith in the wider UK public to have the measure of the man. And I think the less unhinged Tories know he doesn't have a chance next time out. They cannot move on from the last couple of years with him back, and that's clearly what they desperately want and need to do.

So I'm at that same point where I was a few months ago in that I almost want him back for the damage he'll cause. And obviously I hate myself for it.

The public opinion I’ve seen on the return of Boris has been mostly negative. This Morning had Nick Ferrari on and he said he had as many callers saying Johnson should never be allowed back as he did saying they supported him.

The Tories know he’s electoral poison now. NOTHING has changed since he left office, his polling numbers haven’t improved at all and he was significantly behind Starmer well before he got booted. MPs are wise to this; he’s seen as the great white hope to some, but others would sooner cross the floor than serve under him. His supporters are MASSIVELY misreading the room.

He’ll feel untouchable. He cosied up to a rapist, broke every rule possible and is subject to an investigation for his uncontrollable lying, and STILL he has a gaggle of adoring MPs? He’ll feel like he could break into their houses and bugger their kids and still have their undivided attention.
 
If they have sense they'll go for Sunak. The country won't like it, and they'll reject it, but there's at least enough of a vague sense of self respect about the pitch that they might win a few grudging swing votes on election day and would be able to come back from it all easier.

A charter airline hired to remove people seeking refuge in the UK to Rwanda has pulled out of the scheme after pressure from campaigners.

A plane operated by Privilege Style first attempted to fly asylum seekers to the east African country in June but was grounded by an 11th hour ruling by the European court of human rights.

The Mallorca-based carrier had become known as the UK government’s “airline of last resort” for its willingness to conduct deportation flights that other airlines refused.

But after an email campaign by torture survivors and refugee organisations, Privilege Style has said it will no longer operate flights to Rwanda.

The development will leave the UK government in a fix. Two other charter airlines that previously conducted deportation flights, Titan Airways and AirTanker, have already ruled themselves out of the scheme.
