End of an era for those no longer wanted. For 8 songs, the ride is finished.

17 songs move on to Round 3! :disco: And as with last edition, this is now when we have the first vote to evict! Who will survive? :o

32. Boyzone - All That I Need (26th April) - Round 1 (3.7%)

A switch of mode this time! In this round, you are VOTING TO ELIMINATE the songs you want out. You can vote for up to 7 songs. At the end of this round, the 5 songs with the most votes will be eliminated from Survivor 1999.

Painful, but that means I like almost everything left (and a fair few eliminated)

But I’m sure I’ll still get cross by the end :D

What a year!

I realised I don't have the BBC Perfect Day - it doesn't seem to be on streaming at all!

Surprised to see votes for It’s Like That, there’s a moreish quality to it that makes it’s long run at number 1 unsurprising

I voted for Goodbye - years of destroying their legacy have made me totally unwilling to buy into a narrative song like this. Most of their singles remain objectively 10/10 moments, but whining about Geri leaving is not one of them.

It’s a revenge vote for stopping Stop

Not to be anal, but Goodbye was written before Geru left.

I felt bad letting go of PD. Have we not done a favourite solo poll for it?

They need to put BBC Perfect Day in more karaoke places, ideally with the artists’ names in square brackets at the beginning of each section.

Pleasantly surprised to see no paedophiles or otherwise cancelled celebrities in Perfect Day.

On the subject of BILLIE PIPER I think I always preferred Girlfriend, and Honey to the Bee from her debut, although of course she surpassed that later with Day & Night and Something Deep Inside (at the time).

Oh I HATE that Cornershop song so much

And the Manics one. I’ve learnt to appreciate the Manics in my old age.. but not that track

James Dean Beadfield up until 1998 was one hunk o' spunk that's for sure. Although I don't think I'd turn him down at any point.

Apparently the Pop Music Activism people tried but were told that it was unrealeasable commercially due to the specific permissions required for Children In Need at the time.

If Stop was eligible for this survivor it would be a nice contender for #1 :disco:

I wouldn’t go that far :D

I guess I was a real chart loon then, I would have grudges if a song I really liked was blocked. I do sort of like It’s Like That now

I did the same with hating the Ignition Remix, but I guess I was on the right side of history with that :)

I predict a Cher/Madonna final, with "Turn Back Time" as the dark horse. I'll be OK with that.

But Turn Back Time is from the 80s!

Poor funky is getting confused again. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT DAY OF THE WEEK IT IS?
