Tove Lo - Dirt Femme (deluxe)

How on earth is Talking Body her highest certified single in UK? That has to be a mistake… :D
It's trew it's trew

It surprised me too, but I mean it has over a half billion streams, which may be part of it (not sure how many of those are UK streams mind you...)

I'm having a Tove Lo night (mostly based on recommendations from this thread), and omg

disco tits
hey you got drugs?
Timebomb
Not On Drugs (this was my favorite back when her first album came out)
SUBURBIA

WHY have I not been listening to her more?

Also I was reading the popjustice thread on this album and the opinions in it are terrible

are they? :D everyone is saying it's great / maybe her best work yet apart from Kick in the Head and I'm to Blame. which I agree with, I'm not gonna do a version of the tracklist without those two.

DEAD TO ME

I've listened to basically all of this woman's back cat this week, hammered some old faves and let the new ones creep up on me, and all I can say is thank THE GODS for TOVE LO :disco: so many bangers. and she has a properly great pop voice.

this quote from a little interview she did with Vulture has me cackling and screaming

There’s often a lot of emotional intensity in your songs. Have you met many people in your life who possess a similar level of intensity?
Maybe a few, but I feel like it turns into way too much chaos when there’s multiple of us. I feel like the friends I have who are the most like me are the ones who annoy me the most and whom I fight with the most. There’s only space for one! But I’ve gotten better at telling people to just ignore everything I’m saying when I’m having an intense day; to be able to have a space to let my feelings out without others having to feel responsible for them. A lot of the time, people end up feeling responsible because I have an intense energy. People get affected by it, my breakdowns.
that hits so close to home it kinda feels like a read. :disco:

Looking at the credits all the best songs are still with Ludvig Söderberg from the Struts who has been with her from the start (what happened to the other one?).

I'm here for this

I've been spinning this again today. The CD artwork looks a bit cheap, but at least it is a proper CD rather than a CD-R as offered up by certain other independent artists.

Such a good album, so many highs. I'm right off True Romance at the moment but otherwise too good.

the tour began and the setlist is an absolute fever dream.

Pineapple Slice
Attention Whore
Cool Girl
Are U Gonna Tell Her
2 Die 4
Talking Body
Really Don't Like You :disco:
Disco Tits
Call On Me
Moments
True Romance
Grapefruit
Glad He's Gone
How Long
True Disaster :disco:
Hey you got drugs
I'm to Blame
Habits
No One Dies From Love
I can't think of any glaring omissions. can't wait for London on Saturday :disco:

I saw the show at Roundhouse last night, although to call it a show feels reductive since it was essentially a massive party/rave. she had the crowd (very twinky, several on molly) eating out the palm of her hand the entire time - Pineapple Slice/Attention Whore intro kicked things off at 100% and the setlist did not let up.

seeing her performing all her classics back to back like this is a reminder of what a seriously ICONIC popstar this woman is.

hard picked for faves because nothing didn't go off, BUT 2 Die 4, Attention Whore, No One Dies, Grapefruit (it popped off!!!), Habits, Cool Girl, Disco Tits and True Disaster (!!!) were life itself. :disco:

a properly fucking great night. we really do not deserve Tove Lo.
