The Handmaid's Tale (TV Series)

This looks great, I recently binged the first 4 seasons haven’t never watched any and it is truly a fantastic show. It is so harrowing at times, but the acting is superb though the long close ups of Junes face have got a bit TOO MUCH.

The ending of E2 was fucking amazing, the whole episode was a cinematic masterpiece. The tension built throughout and then the ballet. Chef kiss.
 
We'd had a new TiVo box so the first episode didn't record because I didn't know it was on, watched it on All4 then watched the one recorded from Sunday night.

Spawn and I then had a hour or so FaceTime about it which mostly consisted of the words "Oh my God! What about ...".

Our earliest theories are that Serena will end up working with Nick, Commander Lawrence and Aunt Lydia to bring Gilead down from the inside but will throw them all under the bus at the last minute. She really is deliciously evil.

Yes, 10/10 would recommend.
 
As I said to spawn "it's like they dragged five episodes out into ten (or however many there were this season)".

I fear this will be like Lost for me. I've only watched to the end of this series because I've put too much time into it already.
 
I'm still really enjoying it. I did expect at least one storyline to wrap up this season though. Finale predictions: Aunt Lidya to go rouge, Team Jurina to smash the patriarchy, Nick ded, Commandor Laurence auto erotic asphyxiation blunder. Luke to finally get a spine and stop his woe is me fuckry.

I reckon June, Serina and Aunt Lydia will unite to smash the patriarchy. Nick will die for sure but I think Serina will also die and Janine will raise the child.
 
Oh yeah I forgot about the rage in Janine bubbling back up, hopefully she gets her kid back and lives happy ever after
 
Serina has to die in the season finale - end of. Yeah redemption whatever arc and all that but she can't just walk off into the sunset because she is now a MUTHA. Sorry not sorry.
 
Was Janice not being taken to be executed in the last episode of S5? Or is that a ruse?
 
I finished the final episode this morning. Loved it. I've loved all of this series and liked how it finished.

It'll be interesting to see how they deal with The Testaments.
 
Yes, it really kicked into gear this season. I enjoyed it and would definitely recommend picking back up with this one for anyone who fell off after the first seasons.
