Not another one! The last one was so perfect I thought that would be it. I can’t watch that now is it good? :o

This film has the potential to break all kinds of box office records.
 
I meant another trailer not another movie :D

I’ve already contributed to this thread I’m not THAT out of touch!
 
Not as good as the other trailer but it’s a bit more revealing (relatively) about the plot and more
 
I don’t want to watch a new trailer. That first one was perfection.

Yeah I feel like I peaked with the last trailer. I don’t want anything more revealed. Just hook it to my veins.

I hope it's not Shuri, that just seems totally obvious.

The trailer is great but doesn't have the same impact the last one did, or the trailer for the first movie. *watches 10 times*
 
The way the cast is all black leads and the poster has 4 women out of 5 :disco:
 
They're pushing Angela Basset hard in these trailers, aren't they? I wonder if they're going to campaign her for Oscars consideration? They've never managed an acting nomination for any MCU films before, have they?
 
 
Is there a chance Michaela Coel might be in the suit? If they're to be the new Black Panther then I'd much rather it was her rather than ol' bible-bashing anti-vaxxing Tish

I really liked the first film, but at the time and now MORE THAN EVER I think it was mad they killed Michael B Jordan. I thought he was the best thing about the first film, and in light of what's happened since he could have easily stepped in to the leading man void for this and future sequels.

I know they could potentially bring him back at any time, but I guess it's harder to bring him back from the dead when they deffs can't do that with the other main character they've since killed off :bruised:

I'm more excited about this one than I was for Spider-Man and Dr. StrangeWanda COMBINED. I see tickets are on pre-sale already over here but I dunno if it's worth staying up late on a WEEKDAY :D 👵
 
I saw Black Adam last night and couldn't get over how much it ripped off Black Panther. The 'Who are you?' moment followed by a wry smirk was included, even the end credits were identical!

Anyway, this will be blatantly the biggest box office draw this year.
 
It does look like the reviews are more mixed-positive than glowing, though.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is another phase four entry that is a bit of a mess in the story and pacing department, but it is bookended by gut-punch memorial scenes and excellent performances from the entire cast.

"Wakanda Forever" is most comparable to "Avengers: Age of Ultron," another overstuffed sequel that doesn't quite hit the mark. However, Coogler at least lands the emotional core, with the help of a great new villain and an upgraded heroine.

Interesting how she hasn't appeared on any promotional visits in the UK, considering she has a major role, maybe.

87% on Rotten Tomatoes, lower than the first but still pretty decent.
 
A bit of a disappointment really. I had much higher expectations for this than something like Thor L&T but this didn’t feel like a film more like an interlude (a very long one) that’s there to wrap up Chadwick Boseman and introduce the new BP, Namor and some more Valentina.

It lacked the spark of originality that the first one had. There’s nothing that’s as slick as the casino fight from the first but instead a lot of ugly cgi suits that have to removed constantly so the actors can emote for a second before closing up again.

The positives are the costumes which are stunning. Danai Gurira who steals every scene and Namor who just forces you to look at him.

This seems to be the general consensus I've been reading.

I've cancelled going to see this in the cinema now and will wait for Disney+ instead.
 
I really enjoyed it though it was evident throughout that Chadwick's death was still raw for everyone.

Still, the positives outweighed the negatives. Dominique, Tenoch and Michaela were great casting choices. It was visually beautiful and they got the tasteful tone right with the comedic moments.

Winston Duke was vastly underused, again, but he had the best lines and will be a great leading man for years to come.

Ironheart's costume was cool, the Disney+ spinoff should be fun.

Overall, not as good as the first, but a solid way to close out phase 4.
 
To me every single superhero movie now feels the same as the one before . Maybe I’ve just gotten tired of the whole thing , something I never thought possible.. in any case after the general wom I have no desire to see this whatsoever
 
I keep reading that there is a standout female performance but I’m not sure whether they mean Letitia, Danai or Angela. Can anyone confirm (without giving too much away)
 
Danai. Angela’s best moment is in the trailer and I did not care for Shuri.
 
Opened to $180 million in the states. Down from the $242 million opening weekend the first movie took, but that was a 4 day holiday weekend.

Overall worldwide box office: $330 million.
 
I really liked the first one but this was a stone cold bore for me. I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed a Marvel this little.

The Panther franchise has some incredible ingredients (Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Michael B Jordan, and now Michaela Coel) and sideline them in favour of insipid li'l Shuri, a fish prince, and his underwater kingdom which just DID NOT WORK on screen? Nah, get that fire exit door, I'm off (genuinely: I left with 40 mins to go, it had already had over two hours of my precious Saturday)
 
I saw this on Friday and while it's not better than the first one it was thoroughly enjoyable and one of the best things Phase IV has had so far!

This closes Phase IV btw, doesn't it?
