I feel a bit hmmm this year. My parents are away, in laws have some excuse to not see us. My brother will pop over for a bit, otherwise it's just us all day. I don't particularly mind but I feel bad for the kids who are so excited and want something special out of the day

Well, I’m unsurprisingly hugely excited for tomorrow. On balance I think I enjoy Christmas Eve more as you’re still in Christmassy mode while tomorrow is more like the final flushes of post coital satisfaction, but still… I’m getting a load of PlayStation games so excitement is at fever pitch.

Fairly excited! I'm really nostalgic by nature so even though I'm... um... in my late thirties (plus or minus some months) I guess I have an instinctive feeling for it.

I remember once my mum was horrified when I asked for my present to be my dad going to the garage for me and getting some new tyres on my car. I'd have loved someone to do that for me so I wouldn't have to pretend to know what I'm talking about in that environment.

She told me no and probably bought me a load of tat instead.

Honestly am at the age where i’d rather people get me gifts that make my life easier than guess and get me various bits I don’t want. I honestly hate the idea of people spending money on things I ultimately don’t want!

Christmas-wise, I enjoy Christmas Day - in recent years it has usually just been my parents and I drinking, eating well watching old Top Of The Pops so little to complain about it. However, Christmas for me really is all about the build-up so I do slump a bit after Christmas Day and Boxing Day are over. I actively dislike New Year.
