Well, hello.

It's absolutely sheeting it down here. Merry Festivish Thingy.

It's fairly sunny here today which is nice.

I am 15 hours into my 16 hour fast. I need coffee!

Morning

This cold is still getting worse. Terrible night’s sleep too. Entirely fed up now- so many plans ruined. Just another day in front of Netflix.

UGH.

I'm scanning in some more of the many boxes of old photos I've got. It's one of those projects that I've been working on for years and only make inroads in at times like this. It's a TON of work but so much fun to see all these pictures (and people) again.

I'm back home in the mountains, got the next 3 days to myself without work, which is something I've been CRAVING for 3 months.

The lack of snow is sad though.

Well the exercise didn't kill me. I can't say the same for Mr Ag. Which made me feel good.

I've got to go to my mother's and sort her new TV out :goodgrief:
Hopefully this helps:

That's the motion smoothing thingy that makes everything look like a cheap US soap opera - most new TVs have it on by default, so you can turn that off for starters :tongueout:

We really have been eating the biggest amount of rubbish this week. I just gave the kids cheese sandwiches for dinner as they were stuffed on the popcorn we ate while watching Mr Bean this afternoon.

It's a Panasonic though. I pushed her that way because ours is and I thought I'd have a better chance of doing it without a breakdown.

It's 9pm and I'm in the bathtub, 15 minutes away from getting ready for bed. :disco:

Mister jyxz is still convinced that HD channels aren’t any different from standard 🙄

Mr Sheena is the same.

He does the same with sound quality as well. It’s really fucking annoying. I bought a Sonos Beam recently and it’s incredible. Claims not to notice the difference between that and the tv.

Utter shite

My Amazon Prime had this on and I was sat for an entire series of Handmaid's Take thinking it looked like shit until I clocked what was wrong

Would you recommend the beam @Sheena ? I bought a soundbar this year but had to return it as it failed to power up after about 2 days.

Was convinced I needed one with a subwoofer for some reason…..

Oh I absolutely love mine. But I'm a Sonos lunatic- I think that's the 9th Sonos product we have in a flat :D

I had a Samsung soundbar before for a couple of years and when I bought a new tv, decided to upgrade. The difference in sound was astonishing from the off. Big thumbs up from me.

My mother is insisting that she can see no difference between HD and SD and because it's on 101 rather than 1, she wouldn't watch it anyway because it's 'too fiddly'.

:goodgrief:

I've just been informed by Mandy that our TV in the bedroom is HD. But we never use it in HD because we don't see the difference.

I had no idea it was HD.

I don’t usually care that much about video quality, but reality tv from before 2008ish can be rough

This is like when I didn’t realize my sneakers were Givenchy

If it has any streaming apps like Netflix etc, they'll probably be broadcasting in HD.

A 20 year old gay helping me at the mall today: “what size do you wear?”

Me: “I want to try on two different sized because they both sometimes work”

Him: “well you’re definitely a larger size than me”

:D :(

Oh it does, we only ever watch Netflix and Prime on it. So maybe it's automatic and I've just never noticed 🤔

To me all of the Virgin HD channels seem too quiet. I turn the volume up so I can hear the voices and Mr F complains it's too loud so I end up watching with subtitles on.
