I've just added Disney+, but I don't care for Marvel or Star Wars. Is there much good on it for me? We've watched Muppets Xmas Carol, 9 to 5 and Hocus Pocus 2, but there's so much to search through.

Definitely do VPN for iPlayer. The number of UK people I saw saying they were watching Matilda on Netflix “from overseas” this week was insane

I think I’m going to switch from Apple Music to Spotify. I think it’s time to let my play counts go :D

Also it’ll make it easier to share music with others on here and with my in person friends

I realised the other day that I've had a Spotify account from the VERY EARLY DAYS of it going online and have 10 year old playlists.

I have had a paid Spotify account since 2010. I created it in February 2010 the day they opened up registrations in the UK, and then I switched to a Swedish account in March when I was in Sweden for Melodifestivalen. Back then, most releases were regionally restricted, so it was the only way I could stream MF artists. I’ve never switched back to UK and I have to pay by gift cards I buy online.

I seem to have both a free and a premium Spotify account on the same email address which is always confusing when I attempt to add it to a new device. I think the premium one was originally set up via my Facebook account rather than by email directly, back when I had a different email address.

I can't remember when I first got it - but I remember realising early on that I wanted premium. It's probably not particularly early compared to a lot of people here, but for my age then I'd imagine I was a fairly early adopter.

I’ve been on Spotify since it started and had a premium account since that was possible; I wonder how much I’ve paid in total if you add all that time up. :bruised:

I think I'll probably scrap Disney+ now I've watched the new series of What We Do In The Shadows. There's very little for me on there.

Even when I was super poor a while back Spotify was not touched. Music is absolutely essential.

I’ll keep them around for a while
Netflix usually has something decent coming down the pipe and some movies to keep me going

Disney+ has the Marvel slurry but I’ve been enjoying Simpsons and What we do in the shadows, and might do a Pixar/Disney deep dive soon

Wow+ will stay until I reach some sort of Drag Race event horizon

I use my friend's Netflix and Disney Plus :shy: YES I KNOW but she earns more than me and won't take any money for them sooooo

Looks like Netflix may be cracking down on shared accounts this year, in which case I will probably get my own. I'm only on series 7 of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia for STARTERS

Just amazon prime but I don't bother with it much, watched Bad Teacher the other night which I really enjoyed and something with Michael Caine robbing a bank which was okay. I don't have much interest in movies, I get bored quick so will probs cancel

HBO Max and very recently Disney+

had a setup where I paid for Netflix and my sister paid for Disney+ until one day Disney+ was suddenly cancelled and I couldn't log in. when I asked I was simply told "well I don't use it". so naturally I cancelled Netflix :)

Netflix has gone to pot anyway and I'll be subscribing on a need-to-watch basis

I'm on an X Files and Golden Girls bender but when I'm done with that in 4-5 years, yes, it's very likely I'm out too. the superhero and Star Wars orgy does not appeal to me

You’ve got Golden Girls on Disney+?!

I’ve had X files on a slow burn rewatch too

Innit

I'd cancel my Disney+ but for the fact that my great nieces use it and my niece can't afford it herself. And I bought her a Paramount+ annual subscription when it was half price before Christmas.

Can we just cut out the middle man and let Kate pay for them?

I wonder how much you’re all paying, incidentally

According to the current exchange rate from yen, I’m paying

£6.23 for Disney plus and Netflix (each)
£3.15 for Amazon Prime
£3.46 for Wow plus

£95 Amazon Prime (annually)

I don't have WoW at the moment but think it was £4.49 a month (?)

Netflix was £13.50 so HAH to my sister who now has to pay more for less

I didn’t realise the yen was quite so weak compared to the pound (mainly because I thought the pound was in the gutter too), but it’s not quite as bargainous as it looks.

I had to work out my salary for the student loans declaration form, and it came out to something like £18k 😮 I think before it was more like £21k (mind you my income is more complicated than before too)

Although interesting that Disney+ and Netflix are the same price here. I don’t know if that means Netflix are just trying to grab money more overseas, or they’re trying to build their Japanese base vs Disney, or what

I don’t pay for my Netflix and get a student discount for Spotify so only pay £5.99 per month. I renew my subscription at the end of each year so it means I can still use it even after I’ve graduated for a while.
