People have been reluctant to make daily threads lately for some reason! Didn't poor Rita make one at about ten to midnight at the weekend :shock:

I did look at whether it would be feasible to go, but it's a nightmare getting to that part of Turkey at this time of year (we're talking about 16 hours each way with all the layovers and changes), and I'd have to book it today and leave tomorrow and it's just impossible sadly :( They're seeing the wedding as more of a formality than anything though, so it's okay!

If it is just a small affair at the moment then they can have a big party afterwards where you and your brother can go. Can they maybe stream it for you?

I’m sorry if you have further siblings but I can only recall you mentioning your brother. Obviously they can go too.

I do have another brother and a sister, but they have a different mum so you're not wrong :D
 
Also every movie I see advertised through Tiktok, I Google to see where I can watch it and it's always some shit channel I have to pay for through Amazon Prime, which I already pay for :angry:

Well in theory, Osaka seems to be the only place it’s NOT snowing, although it’s fucking cold.

In 9 years I’ve never seen it below zero, and not only is it -3 already but it’s supposed to feel like -13 🥶

Just had another big dog/little dog disagreement with Mr F. Neither of us is backing down. We might need some form of mediation :D
 
Why not get lots of little dogs such that they add up to the same volume as one big dog?

I want a giant dog, bigger than Ridley, but I don't want to have to take it for a massive walk every day so I said that until Mr F is mobile enough to walk a big dog we aren't getting one. Mr F thinks it's highly unlikely that he'll ever be in a fit state to walk a big dog so I said I wouldn't mind a little dog, spawn has a cute little thing that's a something-poo (not a cockapoo but something similar, might be a cavapoo), it's Yorkie-sized. Something like that would be happy with a quick walk around the block and wouldn't need a five-mile yomp. Mr F only wants a little dog if we get a big dog too which defeats the object. Obviously there's the monetary problems with two dogs, more food, two insurances, and they might not get on well.

To those suggesting I get a cat ... not while my arse points south! I want unconditional love and waggy tail when I arrive home from work, not disdainful tolerance.

Giant dog like a Great Dane or Bernese mountain dog? The thing that puts me off big dogs, apart from the slobber, is the fact they don't live long. :(

Also some cats love unconditionally, like Heathcliff ❤️
 
Also Mr F is being very difficult. Get the smaller dog without telling him.

Ridley was classed as a giant dog, I'd love another like him (he was Labrador/Malamute cross) or a full Malamute. I wouldn't want a Great Dane or a Mountain Dog because they do die early and you are correct about the slobber. I've loved not having to scrape dried dog-snot off the washing machine window (where he used to look through the glass at the washing going round), it really is the hardest substance to get rid of. I used to have to use a glass-scraper on it, even Pink Stuff paste didn't make much of a difference.

To be fair to him he would look after it if he was physically capable. So I think he's going to say he'll try his best in the hope I agree but I'm not caving on this one, I ended up wholly responsible for Ridley's exercise for the last few years and I was even sneaking him on the park at six o'clock in the morning when the hospital let me home and told me I wasn't allowed to do anything for three months because I felt so guilty that he wasn't going out and I didn't want his mental health to suffer by not getting the outside smells.

Doesn't detract from the fact that you are correct, Mr F often needs a smack! :D
 
I would love another boxer but I also do not miss the slobber!

Yeah the slobber really grosses me out 🤢

But, I can see the appeal with a Malamute. I wouldn't have one because I prefer small dogs and I couldn't cope with the shedding...but with an experienced owner they can be amazing dogs.
