Get yourself a EU cover from Amazon (use the link!) for about £5 and then do what I do- March through airports loudly proclaiming that I’ve got one just because I don’t want the fucking horror of a blue passport.

You’ll make friends and mortal enemies in equal measure, which is nice.
 
I can barely keep my eyes open today. I wish I could just cuddle up in bed all day
 
I'm PERKY today. It's end of January, I did 2 hours in the gym before work...

I had a very loud conversation with Ron Jr about Brexit in the queue for customs going to Lanzarote the other day. I could feel the angry gammon vibes in the air. Fuck em.
 
Considering I did a fuck load of pills this weekend I'm in a great mood. I wasn't quite so happy this morning though.

I'm working this week for the first time since late October. nervy but good.

And I'm pretty much booked in different schools every day from Monday onwards. Hooray for sick teachers. Plus two non teaching interviews in different places.

One is a charity that does intergenerational work, so lots of school stuff.

The other is for implementing and delivering PSHE programmes to schools locally.

They both sound nice but I feel like every other teacher looking to escape teaching will have applied, so not putting pressure on myself.
 
@lolly do you go over the bridge into Wales much? I imagine if I lived in Bristol I'd spend all my free time in Wales.

Only really if we're going to Cardiff. As far as the countryside and coast is concerned, I'd rather head further southwest than into Wales.

I prefer the West Country. It might not have the spectacle of whatever Snowdonia is called now, but I think it's got more variety.

And I don't like the accent on men.

Oh Snowdon is my least favourite part of Wales. I love the mountains and waterfalls but actually found the area quite bleak.

Brecon, Pembroke and the Wye valley are stunning tho.

The accent has definitely grown on me.
 
Brecon I do like, but I'm just as happy walking in Dartmoor or Exmoor. Pembroke is lovely, but very similar to the North Cornish coast. And the Wye Valley IS gorgeous, but pretty much as English as it is Welsh.

Yeah all very good points. I'm not sure why we love Wales so much when you put it like that. Although maybe because it's not touristy and crowded like Cornwall, Devon, Lake District etc can be.

And we don't even bother with the Cotswolds now, every time we've tried to stop there we can't park anywhere.

I think it's just a FEELING and a preference really. And in my case, five decades of holidaying all over the southwest.

Other than a break to Saundersfoot and Tenby about a decade ago, and a couple of trips to New Quay in Ceredigion where my auntie had a caravan, I've never holidayed in Wales. Lots of day trips though.

You're right about tourists though, at least in places like St Ives, Padstow and Newquay. But even at the height of summer you'll find places in Cornwall which are practically deserted. I think I've recommended the Rame peninsula to you before. It's stunning, and just over the border from Devon.
 
We tried to go to St Ives in September, we drove around for 45 minutes trying to park and had to give up. So we never got to visit. We did do Padstow which was crazy busy, but they really like to milk the tourists. £9.50 for a pasty!

We love Cornwall tho. We're going to stay at Mullion Cove in April. I'll definitely look at visiting Rame.

You're right about a "feeling" though. I get that feeling in Wales. I can't describe it, except I feel as at home and relaxed there as I do on the island.

Yes! I'm obsessed. But it has to be the ones where they're already cut into little criss-cross bits and they then cut them and it all falls away 😍

I hate myself for watching them, but I'm transfixed.

I do get a little bit icky about how some people don't slice into their hands and fingers though!

Yeah I find some of them far less appealing than others. Any with big crisscross bits I don't like. And they have to have nice hands.

Another good one is chalk crumbling.

The kids love a series of videos where they show car wheels driving over various things like eggs, balloons, toothpaste etc.

Yeah I've watched a few of those. Not quite as addictive as the soap tho
