This is all shaping up so well. I trust that Liverpool is going to SMASH it.

Incidentally the not yet built Bristol* Arena, subject of our glittering £70.42 Eurovision bid, which was originally planned to open in 2024 but SOMEHOW was going to be ready for the contest if we won the bid, has now been pushed back to 2025/2026 :side-eye:

Wasn't it going to be in an aircraft hangar?
 
As I said elsewhere I quite like the colour scheme. It's giving me 1999, which as may have been mentioned is notable to some fans.

They are 'transforming' an old Concorde hangar. What that means in terms of how much of it will remain and how much is new, who knows? I assumed the project was much further along if less than six months ago there was an apparent possibility of it being used in a matter of weeks, yet now we've been told it may be three years.

Fishponds I could forgive, seeing as it is actually in Bristol and is an actual place, despite the name causing mirth from non-locals.

The place where the proposed arena is didn't even have a name until a few months ago (now apparently it's called 'Brabazon') because it's a vast mixed brownfield/greenfield development in the middle of nowhere* with nothing there other than a disused airfield, a fuckload of builders chucking up identikit housing, and a rail link which will not open for at least another two years

It looks nice, I keep getting Starship Enterprise

I need to see it to scale though, the stage looks small compared to that big circle overhead
 
I like the way it looks a little like the last Ukrainian stage from 2017 with the swoopy side bits
 
I know the EBU have wanted the BBC to do it for years, but they're proving their worth so far. Star turns from AJ and Graham Norton can only add to the top tierness of it all.
