Didn’t all the fans hate those three in 2017? Why they’re all so keen for him to have a role this year is beyond me. Is it because he’s the only Ukrainian host people have heard of and got some brownie points for doing commentary from a bunker?
 
I mean, my main issues with the hosts that year were the script and the very bro-y vibe that came out of having an all-male hosting team (the leering at every hot woman announcing votes :zombie:), both of which I'll assume won't be quite so bad in Liverpool

Yeah that was weird - I didn't notice how bad the voting sequence was until I watched it back. Especially strange given the script was by the Daily Mash people, so that was a crushing disappointment and I hope the BBC don't get any ideas in that department.

Yeah. I kind of took bringing in someone at the Daily Mash as "let's get in someone who can do it quick on a relatively tiny budget" as opposed to getting in someone actually good though, but I guess mileage will vary on that :basil:

Edit: Ah I see @Ag expressed the same sentiment while my brain was still trying to process it.
 
The Daily Mash are fun for the occasional headline but hardly WRITING EUROVISION.
 
I imagine the BBC have a greater talent pool than the Daily Mash.

Are we still to presume Graham Norton is hosting? He hasn't been mentioned.
 
I think if Graham does end up being involved with hosting, it'll very much be a 'name above the door but not actually involved much in the grunt work' illusion of hosting type gig. At the opening and at the close, and hightailing it to the commentary box in between.

I saw this on Reddit as well, with the source being that the crystal ball account was following them :eyes:
 
I like how it's an all-female trio for the semi-finals, to balance out with the last time Ukraine hosted. There surely won't be much Graham in the final either (unless Mel is given the bulk of the commentary).

Some surprising choices, but I do enjoy Ted Lasso so I'm not mad.
 
I assume it will be something like Graham will do the first link on Saturday, run up to the commentary box and do all the performances, and then go back down for the interval and points. Mel will commentate during those times?
