40 killed. 50-60 missing. Some of the injured kids have been amputated, some are in critical condition and some will need various surgeries.
The fire in the first 3 departments reached a temperature of 1600C, the rescue work at this point is trying to find the tiniest elements of remains to get a DNA match for the parents of the missing kids so that they can proceed with the burials.
 
The missing number could be inaccurate cause the train operator, which is basically Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (due to forced privatizations) has until now (almost 24 hours later) been unable to provide the number and names of the passengers (!). The state had to create a helpline for the families who have missing kids to get in touch so that they can understand how many people and whom they are searching for.

One of the survivors from the train mentioned today that there were also an english couple in their 50s and a romanian guy on board that haven't been found neither dead or alive and haven't been declared as missing by anyone. Overall there's very little official information regarding the human losses and tbh at this point there's very little trust in them, if any at all.
 
The train operator has removed all of their safety boasting advertising from their website and made private all their youtube channel videos.

This is what we were sold about how they operate all these years.



Notice the imaginary electronic control and safety system that turned out wasn't in operation at all.

It’s amazing how simple laziness can cost so many lives. Hopefully a wake up call to other train operators
