Well the reviews LIED about this being just a teaser for future. It most certainly was self-contained enough to stand on its own. Some of the humor was SHIT and omg @ MODOK, they really green lit THAT huh. Pfeiffer and Majors were both QOLs and mostly I enjoyed this. @Iguana won.

I'm not rejoining the MCU story until it starts to tell the wider story and pull it all together. I'll check in if one of the standalone films/series are excellent on their own merit (Wandavision/Shang-Chi). There's just TOO much content now.

This was fairly underwhelming. Jonathan Majors must have sore shoulders after he carried the film. It wasn't a total disaster, the overlong joke about how many holes Scott has was fairly amusing and the multiple Ant-Men were a hoot. MODOK was appalling.

I didn’t hate this? Like it’s extremely average but it’s not offensive as a whole. What I hated was Paul Rudd who’s just awful, wooden and his annoying daughter. The whole family had zero chemistry.

Jonathan Majors was good, a huge improvement over his Loki appearance and I guess he’ll get to play different versions.

I really liked how they portrayed Modok and the nod to the broccoli people.

It doesn’t need to exist beyond setting up Kang. It could honestly have been a solo Kang movie and it would have been better.

I know this is very, very shallow but I was genuinely shocked by how bad Evangeline Lilly looked with that haircut.

I actually thought this was perfectly fine. It’s not brilliant but it certainly has a beginning, a middle and an end. There are definitely characters really in peril unlike Doctor Strange. Jonathan Majors was a great villain, and with Pfeiffer, Douglas and Rudd together that’s a lot of natural on screen charisma.

Of the latest Marvel movies it’s the best since Black Widow.

That aside, it’s definitely been a critical bomb, plus lead to all sorts of soul searching about the MCU as a commercial venture.
