I was reading a lot about Anita Bryant yesterday evening. She was an American anti-gay activist in the 1970s who was basically down the same rabbit hole as the Posie Parker's of today. She spewed rubbish about protecting children, safe spaces, reproductive rights blah blah blah till it cost her her marriage and till she had to declare bankruptcy twice. It really is amazing how twisted these people become that they can't see themselves quite literally unravelling, and the argumments are of course the same as the TERF's of today use.

She was also one of the first people to be pied in the face on live TV so that's something.

 
I had a horrible 3 seconds googling to make sure it wasn't Parker Posey (Party Girl) - thank goodness it's that horrible thing I once saw on This Morning one time.

I mean the tone is terrible, but the revelation is fascinating. He voted Remain as well.
 
That's fucking bizarre. I mean, it's horribly written in his usual, 4 pints-in pub rant style but...it's also surprisingly humane. What a weekend; Parker gets ketchuped out of New Zealand, MRAs turn on Rowling and Clarkson says "woah, hold on a minute, let's calm down".
 


Clarkson on side (kinda). Interesting.

I mean, it's badly put from our perspective but I think it's a really useful piece since his audience are mostly gammon-y types. It's someone seen as being on their side talking in their language and basically saying "hey, this is the thinking I've been doing, do you think we might be wrong?" and I think little nudges like that in the right direction might actually be more effective than jumping straight to calling people transphobes, bigots and other names if they're not perfectly on side (with the exception of people like JK obviously as she's demonstrated she knows EXACTLY what the fuck she is and what the fuck she's doing, but I mean more generally). I encourage it honestly, it's a big thing for known reactionary to openly admit to rethinking their ideas and if it at least gets a few gammons to climb down and at least stop being nasty, then hey, great. It's not perfect but baby steps.

He seems to have been drifting into a more mellow, even slightly progressive attitude since the whole farm thing, which is fascinating to watch. Nice to at least see he's nice towards gay people now, I'm sure there were thinly (or not so thinly?) veiled homophobic jokes in the Top Gear days, so long may he continue drifting left...

Hope this isn't an insensitive question but genuinely, in that short clip Radcliffe's face seemed kind of stationary on his left. I don't recall seeing anything like this in HP. Is he okay? Did he suffer a stroke of some kind?

People always use that against him and Emma Watson. That hand hasn’t fed either of them in some time, and it’s insane that people are effectively coming after them for criticising their first boss. Roger at Somerfield was my first boss, but that doesn’t stop me from calling him a squat, goggle-eyed cunt.
