Im of the opinion it should at least be hyphenatedAm I the only person who thinks "Padum Padum" would be a more accurate title?
Dental appointment this morning to have new crown fitted and (another) wisdom tooth extracted. Whilst brushing my teeth prior to going to the appointment a different crown snapped off.
I've just removed the gauze pad thingy that I had to bite down on for half an hour and I can feel blood oozing into my mouth and it tastes horrific.

Mine was on for three weeks and she had trouble getting it off this morning, it wasn't even glued in. Just be really careful about chewing or biting with it if you can and you should be OK. If it does come off you can pop it back on.I've got a temporary crown on for the next 4 weeks and I'm terrified it will break![]()
The spawn rang me at 8am to tell me to finish work early and come up to see the baby because she'd forgotten that I was at the dentist (she's had other stuff on her mind) so at some point this weekend I'll be off up there. Driving to the seaside on a bank holiday weekend, what's not to love?
Not yet, only the parents were allowed in the baby unit and spawn was spending her time there (obviously) so there was no point going so we just had Facetimes. They came home Wednesday night and I wanted to go visit yesterday but spawn wanted a few days peace and quiet (because she hadn't slept since last Thursday) so I didn't push the issue. I did consider just driving up anyway but thought better of it. I'm currently in no fit state to drive, the anaesthetic has worn off and the whole side of my head is aching so I've had some scrambled egg and am going to hit the proper painkillers now.Have you been up to see SoS yet?

Did you know that you aren't allowed to kiss newborn babies any more because of a virus that they'll catch by the time they're a year old anyway?!

I'd been offering for weeks to help make sure the house was ready but they didn't want any. When I did just tip up there we all went out for lunch instead. When we had Ron Jr my folks came up to sort the house out and help us, we very politely asked them to bugger off for the same reason. Ms Ron was fucking done and we just wanted to have a bit of time to take it all in.
Think we got about a day in before realising we had no clue what we were doing![]()

She actually told me last night "I don't know why people say having a baby is hard, she never cries, she's such a good baby and me and husband have got it sorted we reckon" and "nappies are easy, I haven't even retched and I've changed three pooey ones already". I didn't burst her bubble by saying "just wait for the first time she decides to cry for no apparent reason for twelve hours straight".
Brand new parents have no clue, but you muddle through as best you can. I'd never even held a tiny baby before I had one of my own, never mind changed or bathed one.

Happy Friday everyone and spawn and child of spawn. I have a confession: I'm going to an Ed Sheeran concert tomorrow
Well you get the meconium poo first which is black and tar-like, that's the womb-stuff, then if I remember correctly they go dark green, lighter green, yellowy, orangey then brownish but it's a lottery of what colour you get while they're still drinking milk. The nurses in NICU cleaned up the meconium ones so spawn's only cleaned up green ones up to now. The most horrific poos are when they're teething (poonami - it's easier to just stick them under the shower because it's up their back and down their legs and throw the babygro away) and when they start weaning onto real food it starts smelling like real poo.Aren't a baby's first few poos odourless because they're just pooing out the stuff they ingested in the womb, or something like that? Good luck Spawn![]()
