I got slightly confused with it on in the background - its the actor Neil Mark's 50th episode :D The internet tells me there have been at least 132 episodes..

I was pleased that Stockard seemed to settle down a bit after the first episode. I thought this was really good. Suranne was wonderful as per, but Eve Best was the star turn.

Going to start it tonight I think now that I have caught up with 'I Kissed a Boy' - priorities.

I keep seeing a Nicola Walker drama advertised on iplayer that I don't recognise - Annika - Anyone seen this? Passed me by!

It was on Alibi last year or the year before. I think it was OK, I mainly remember Nicola's character regularly breaking the fourth wall.

There was also a rubbish Martin Compston drama that was on Alibi first and then shown on the BBC later. They must have a deal of some kind.
 
Finally got round to finishing the excellent Colin From Accounts last night.

Lynelle and Lee in particular are quite the creations. Ashley's friends in the seventh episode are full on horrific.

Listened to an interview with lead couple/creators and while a second season hasn't been confirmed yet, they were very confident it will be.

Watched the first one. Not blown away but watchable, the way it is filmed really reminded me of a dated late 90's drama.
 
Rather overshadowed by another HBO show, Barry also wrapped up last night. This final run went off the rails a bit with a jarring time jump but the last couple of episodes were enjoyable.

Also watched The Bear on Disney+. Excellent stuff, even though I never imagined making meaty sandwiches would be quite so intense.

Two thirds through it and it's 8/10 for me. At least 3 of those marks are for Suranne and Eve though - I think it would be quite dull in less capable hands.

The two of them played off each other very well, though I also enjoyed the Eve-taxi driver from Shameless relationship.
 
Anyone watched Changing Emds on ITVX about Alan Carr’s childhood? Some proper laugh out loud moments. Sometimes child Alan veers a bit into Frank Spencer ‘Oooooooh Betty!’, but mostly pulls of the camp gay kid character well.

Definitely worth a watch.

I want to watch it, but I think I must just want to avoid ITVX even more.

Hopefully it will be on PROPER TELLY soon enough.
 
I like ITVX. I pay for a subscription so I can get all the Britbox content. I've just finished watching every episode of Goodnight Sweetheart.

So I finished this, well, I found it a chore to be honest, it was good to see Queen Stockard on British TV and I liked the relationship between the sisters, but erm, it did not grab me at all.

I definitely need a new drama/thriller series to get into. Is there anything on Netflix or terrestrial peeps can suggest at the mo?

Or I may just go to a comedy series the Alan Carr one or Colin from Accounts, both seem to have had positive feedback
 
I've now braved ITVX for Alan Carr, and it's really good fun. I wouldn't call it essential, it's very predictable, but if anyone likes him, I'm sure it will tick all the boxes and is a great easy watch.

Colin From Accounts is a lot more clever and deserves more of your attention.

I still can't seem to get ITVX on my TV :D
 
We're halfway into Poker Face now, and I'm enjoying it a lot. It reminds me of Columbo a lot, in the way that it's an inverted detective story, rather than a straightforward whodunit. And it's absolutely beautiful to look at.

I couldn't, but then remembered my old Roku stick and watched it through that.

I keep re-loading the aps on the TV and everything else comes up, so at this stage I'm like FUCK YA. There is more creeping on there that I want to watch though, but I like to watch things on my big TV and not devices.
 
In exciting TV news for @Rita and pensioners nationwide, the BBC has confirmed series 14 and 15 of Call The Midwife, in addition to season 13 which commenced filming in the spring. So it's on air until at least 2026.

That seems to still do rather well, and I know he hosted the US version at the end of last year as well. I imagine if it is over, the BBC have a new format already lined up for him.
 
Currently watching the French 'Love And Trouble In Paris', a six part romantic comedy from Walter Presents on 4. It's absolutely delightful, and features the beautiful Tom Leeb, who also should have represented France at ESC 2020.

Started watching 'Crime' on ITV1 last night, its a Scottish cop drama and an Irvine Welsh adaptation, very gritty and less polished than you would usually get for a primetime drama but quite enjoyed it, will definitely keep with it. I have not heard of it before so no idea if there have been previous series.

I have got rid of my netflix as I just was not watching it at all, so between 'Crime' and 'Its Just Like that' - those will be my series' to be getting on with and quite contrasting.
