TV Ratings 2023

I know, right? :D

I only usually watch the final anyway, and rarely listen to any of the songs before that apart from the UK entry, although I was intrigued with Loreen’s Tattoo so did listen to that. Surely an EASY WINNER! It’s fantastic!
We didn't lose anything decent in the first semi. You can always jump in for semi two tomorrow evening.

I will definitely try to be here Saturday night. I absolutely love getting sloshed with you lot whilst watching. It has been an absolute treat over the past few years watching it with Moopy as I don’t think I really paid much attention after Ireland’s heyday.

It's normally one of the top shows of the year these days. So little TV is watched live, so it makes a big impression.

My feeble mind saw Coronation Street at the top and was wondering how on Earth they had such a jump in viewers.

I was going to ask if those figures are decent, but then thought we probably don’t have anything to compare them to.

I guess the most obvious recent comparisons are the Platinum Jubilee and the funeral last year which had 13.071m and 12.395m respectively.

I opted out of that one.

We watched Without Sin last week, and it was diverting enough but not essential.

Despite the lower ratings, BGT being top or near the top for its run means its probably not going away any time soon. Its so dull and tired now.

The BGT final was about three quarters of a million down on last year, but yes, it isn't going anywhere while it's still the most successful programme on TV, even if it is a shadow of its former self.

Can anyone recommend any dramas that I possibly could have missed? TV is absolutely horrific at the moment.

'The 1% Club' looks to be doing good numbers for a new game show on ITV in the year of our lord 2023

Is it an actual hit, or just one they stick on after BGT so it gets a few million extra people who've NODDED OFF / not had their televisions switched off by the nurse yet?

Please don't consider Channel 5 thriller 'For Her Sins' with Jo Joyner. Mr L put it on this evening and I've come upstairs to get away from it.

I find the Channel 5 ones to be very hit and miss, and mostly miss. I have watched a fair few and the only one I remember is The Teacher by Sheridan Smith and that was just OK.

I think this is the second season so am assuming that it is a bit of a hit in the same way The Chase and Tipping Point are. Not my cup of tea but there certainly seems to be an appetite for quizzes overall.

I guess if a drama is going to be on Channel 5 it's already been turned down by the BBC, Netflix, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, even Amazon. The chances of anything decent being left can't be high

EDIT: Apart from lovely lovely All Creatures Great and Small, that is

The 1% club is actually decent, I sort of watch it, and sometimes figure out the answers to the questions asked 😄

True about Britain's Got Talent... judging's no good, lacks talent overall, and it selects people with a certain energy, power or personality for TV. This year's voting for the final 3 was strange. BGT was so much better before, I even considered entering when I was little 😅
Susan Boyle is definitely my favourite contestant 🥰 it was nice seeing her perform again, even following a stroke last year. Attraction in 2013 were the most memorable winners to me, some others too, like Ashleigh and Pudsey. 🌟

I don't really watch many drama series, but I did watch Channel 5's The Drowning (considered a psychological thriller) in early 2021. 🏞
It was a slightly disappointing ending, but I quite liked the beginning two episodes. :)🎵

I had no idea Susan Boyle had a stroke.

I had no idea Susan Boyle had a stroke.
Most viewers including me didn't know either, until she mentioned it after the performance (around 5:30 of this video):

Susan says it was a minor stroke, but apparently she had to re-learn how to speak and sing as wonderfully as she did previously. 💭

Very glad that she overcame that and got to perform again 😌💗🎶

Susan Boyle's appearance on Wendy Williams' tv show when she sang a Christmas song still haunts my dreams.

Yeah I think the 1% club is quite decent in terms of its format and something different for a quiz show, so I am glad its doing quite well

whilst nobody seems to be talking about Love Island, it still looks the highest rated show on a channel outside 1-5?
