Don't wipe them out until you've met one from Brighton.Seagulls are the only animal that I believe should face genocide.
The worst seagulls are in Aberdeen. They're absolutely huge because they've been so well fed over the generations; genuinely thought there was an albatross coming for us when one tried to get my friend's macaroni pie out of his hand (it was 1am, there had been drink).
Growing up they lived on a factory just behind my house. Squarking constantly all hours of the day and night, couldn‘t open the window and nightvast clouds of them hovering ominously overhead. VILE. HATE THEMGenerally though, I usually find the ones in cities worse than the coastal ones. The ones we get around our harbourside are vicious, feral bastards.

We had seagull chicks on the roof of the building opposite ours last year and we pretty much adopted them. One of the team even named them and someone who left shortly after was presented with a sepia photo of them as a memoir.Last week in Newcastle I got to see some seagull chicks and they were very sweet.

The seagulls in Brighton are pricks just like the rest of them. Don't be fooled.
God the 4am fucking I don't miss. But they forced me into earplugs and compacted ear wax and I've never looked back.I was just about to say the same. Complete arseholes.
I've gotten quite used to seagulls living literally on the seafront here- which usually involves a bit of noise but nothing too serious. Every now and then though, they'll have a fight right outside your fucking window at 4am, which is a bitch, though. Not quite as bad as foxes scrapping, though, which sounds like someone screaming as they're being raped.

There was a gull and her chick the other day near me. She chose to sit in the middle of a busy pavement and then attacked everyone that walked pastLast week in Newcastle I got to see some seagull chicks and they were very sweet.
Don't worry I'm a lardarse right now.I was just about to say the same. Complete arseholes.

), he called the area we both live in (and which I, remember, am from) as "poor and full of terrible people", which he then said is probably why they vote Labour, went on to say how Boris Johnson had been stitched up and it was all a conspiracy, how he'd gone into a restaurant and walked out as they only served halal meat, how Brexit was a great idea, how new versions of the Pride flag were just "a ridiculous idea", especially the bit about black people being included because "he thought they already were", thought people who slept around "deserved all they get" disease wise (THAT WENT DOWN WELL WITH ME!) and from the stories I was told seemingly has a habit of falling out with EVERYONE he meets, including being barred from a local pub here, seemingly as part of some orchestrated hate campaign against him, and falling out with someone for making an anti- monarchy post on FacebookThey've always been there. I've always been disgusted about the amount of racism, I hear on the gay scene. In the safety of so called safe spaces, the freedom they presume they have to spout out their first uneducated thoughts on race, immigration etc is at a minimum eye opening. Also OT, I went out with a gay guy for dinner last night. I met him on a train back from Brighton a few months back both bladdered and we had a lovely old chat and promised to go out as friends. Obviously woke up the next morning with NO INTENTION of doing so, but he's badgered me and finally, yesterday, we went out for a midweek dinner.
It was AWFUL. He spent the first HOUR (!) just talking at me about the "love of his life" who had broken up with him that day via Whatsapp and blocked him on everything (note: which he called "cowardly") and who it then transpired about 40 minutes into the conversation he'd been with for THREE WEEKS (), he called the area we both live in (and which I, remember, am from) as "poor and full of terrible people", which he then said is probably why they vote Labour, went on to say how Boris Johnson had been stitched up and it was all a conspiracy, how he'd gone into a restaurant and walked out as they only served halal meat, how Brexit was a great idea, how new versions of the Pride flag were just "a ridiculous idea", especially the bit about black people being included because "he thought they already were", thought people who slept around "deserved all they get" disease wise (THAT WENT DOWN WELL WITH ME!) and from the stories I was told seemingly has a habit of falling out with EVERYONE he meets, including being barred from a local pub here, seemingly as part of some orchestrated hate campaign against him, and falling out with someone for making an anti- monarchy post on Facebook
Now, Moopy, you know me, I did not sit there in silence, so I totally smacked back and disagreed with him on just about everything he said, but absolutely in what I thought was a polite (but firm) fashion. The one thing we DID agree on was that social media has left people so polarised that most people can't debate stuff and how people on opposite sides of the political spectrum put themselves into an echo chamber and that our discussion was certainly interesting seeing how we were polar opposites.
Anyway, we left and I said to Mr Sheena how I wouldn't be doing it again as he was clearly a terrible human being but that it had been interesting to see the "other side". This morning, I notice he's deleted me on Facebook (he added me only last week), stopped following me on Instagram and blocked me on Whatsapp without a single word, despite all of what he said last night. I mean, I'm half relieved but also half furious my English sense of politeness stopped me from walking out going "NAH, FUCK THIS SHIT, YOU'RE A CUNT" to his face at the time, which I actually had to stop myself from doing. I mean, WHO ARE THESE RIGHT WING GAYS? I can't WAIT to inevitably bump into him again somewhere...
Sounds like you dodged a bullet there. Also OT, I went out with a gay guy for dinner last night. On my last day at my last school, a new cover teacher (I presumed to be gay) turned up spouting all kinds of self involved, I'm so hard by done by shite. If I'd stuck around I'm sure would have ended up in a rant about trans issues in schools.
You can if you wish put it partly down to social media, which was then exploded by Brexit and the rise of the extreme right as mainstream "fact". The genie has never returned to the bottle and thick/ bored/ self pitying gays are just as vulnerable to the drivel, but that's not new.
Sounds like you dodged a bullet there.

So glad I'm going to Aberdeen next month now!The worst seagulls are in Aberdeen. Just to clarify, he was also FAR from thick. Seemingly well educated, good job...
And I agree it's always been there and perhaps social media has emboldened people to come out with it, for sure. Also, it was interesting that one thing I repeatedly challenged him on was how as a gay man he could actively support rhetoric from a party and individuals who had consistently voted against his own rights and all he did was answer my question with another question/ attack on anything supposedly "woke" rather than actually answer, despite me pointing this out and asking him to just answer the question. That said it ALL.
How about a hat with a macaroni pie on top? Then everyone's happyWear a hat. A well-fitting one. Maybe one of those ones with a wee umbrella sticking out of it.
