Ok, so skip past Alone, and try and ignore the weird performance where she can't quite dance, neither can Germany's Next Top Models, and that it is a weird place to be debuting a song at all, and you'll be rewarded with an absolute SMASH that Ava Max could only dream of.

 
I think Kylie debuted All the Lovers on Germany's Next Top Model, on the same night that Katy Perry performed. It's their One Show for promo :disco:
 
NAR but it's kind of weird that Germany's Next Top Model refers to the titular country in English.
 
Can we just not keep suporting this woman? It’s disappointing that some people can put the behaviour of musicians aside just because they like the music.

Worked with Dr Luke, which would have come with a contract none of us know the contents of so there is no point pretending this is a simple situation just so we can call Kim Petras a cunt every chance we get. Especially as a young trans woman early in her career, she might not have had much opportunity otherwise.

Anyway I don't think he's had much to do with this album so it seems like Kim is trying to get away from him.
 
I see. Were any of the allegations against him ever proven? Kesha’s (civil) cases were dismissed I think (at least in respect of assault).
 
Her only good songs are the instrumentals from that one album and a feature on an unreleased SOPHIE track.

she signed her contract with Luke after the drama was already out there. she knew. maybe she didn't have many options but she has vocally supported the abuser and dismissed the Kesha stuff. the people she associates herself with in her circle are generally trash and some of them have said really vicious things about Kesha on their socials. there is no evidence AT ALL that she's "trying to get away from him."

anyone can listen to anyone they want and I wouldn't police that but please don't create a narrative that she's stuck in her contract and wants to be free of Luke because it simply isn't the case.
 
anyway I cherry picked from this earlier out of curiosity. King of Hearts and Castle in the Sky, like Alone, are generic and un-catchy shit that don't have what it takes to be labelled a banger.

Claws and Minute were pretty good though and should've been singles. they feel like a progression from Clarity. you can hear at least four different projects on this one album fighting for attention.

Doja Cat was signed before the allegations were out, but she has been outspoken about working with him and how he even managed to get credits on Planet Her since apparently, he was not present during the writing or recording process and yet he appeared on Kiss Me More and others. As for Kelly, she's been extremely vocal about it too, I think P!nk has as well. My point is, unlike Kim, there are a few singers out there who have expressed discontent regarding Luke and how they've been forced to work with him. Google it, it's all out there; Kim isn't doing it and just shies away from the questions.

exactly dear, exactly. and when confronted with receipts on social she usually defaults to the "stop hating on trans people!!!" thing which is frankly tragic.
 
It feels like she's having a bit of an identity crisis as an ARTISTÉ. It's all a bit all over the place. There are some good songs on the album, but I feel I will be cherry-picking the highlights to avoid the horrible 'Alone' or 'Coconuts' (fun but ruined by Spotify throwing it up at every occasion when it came out.)
 
I don’t know what a Dr Luke is, but it still amazes me that we have a world of cheap ass Britney/Christina clones in 2023 with all the cultural relevance of a CD Walkman

I'm very sorry (particularly after earlier posts in this thread) to report that some songs from this album are QUITE GOOD AFTER ALL!

the title track in particular has got some really fun energy. in general the most successful tracks are the Charli-aping ones, not the Ava-copycat Eurodance which she isn't good at. but the lyricism across the board is shit.
