Kylie - Padam Padam (1st single, May 18th)

What is happening with US radio @Devil
Paul Rudd Snl GIF by Saturday Night Live

It's top 50 on Hot AC and at the cusp (I think) of top 50 pop radio.

POP (MOCK-UP):
?? ?? KYLIE MINOGUE Padam Padam 95 57 38 0.235

+12 Spins
+6 Bullet
+0.018 Audience

HOT AC:

It's likely not anywhere near Hot 100, or bubbling under, for now.

It will need to generate some US streams (I'm trying to do my bit) first. It's not in the Spotify top 200 here. But radio support will help.

"All I See" was her last single serviced to US pop radio, and this is already exceeding that. Her last song to make the pop chart was "Slow" in 2004 (#35) and that made a dent on the Hot 100.

And I don't think she's had a song chart on Hot AC since CGYOOMH. That format tends to be less ageist than pop radio so I could see it going top 30 there.

They didn't send Get Outta My Way to pop radio?
Or any of the lead singles from the albums since X? The mind boggles.

Judging by the Instagram stories of every one of my friends that has been to a US Pride Party over the last couple of weekends, I can safely say it's a CULT HIT since almost every other drag Queen uses it on their performance act besides getting a spin or two by the DJ later through the night.

PADAM PADAM to the Billboard Hot 100 everyone :basil:

They did not. I think GOMW got some v/ minor unsolicited play.

If anyone's interested, these are all her peaks to date on US Top 40 Radio

(I love that site, though sadly they seem to have stopped updating it around three years ago)

There was some article on Billboard this week that mentioned it got 2.4 million streams in the US last week I think? Which is pretty good, though not in contention of the chart. But airplay has a huge impact there, so if she gets some traction there she may have a shot, as she does well on iTunes as well which while small still helps.

TBF a top 40 pop radio hit would be a success all things considered, and I think that is very possible.

I think it'll be a top 20 pop hit. It just needs to be heard, any time I've played it for anyone, they've liked it

Local versions!

Sweden - feat. Loreen (or Mariette if double-booked)
Poland - feat. Blanka
Ireland - feat. Rachel Goode

I do think the possibilities are endless for another decade of Kylie albums, she could do a great duets album, I think she'll definitely re-launch the xmas album in the coming years too, but at the moment, she does not need to do ANY of that :disco: You wouldn't hear me say that a few years ago crying into my crunchy nuts with oat milk with I Was Gonna Cancel on a torturous loop!

She should honestly leave any novelty albums until she's in her 60s at the very least. I'm guessing she might be a Dame by then anyway.
