I'm one week out from seeing her in Brussels so I'm revisiting the back cat. This video TRULY has it all

The imperial phase went beyond that. That excludes California, all the Innamoramento stuff and Les Mots for starters.

I would argue her imperial age ends with the Les Mots album campaign, though there’s still been all sorts of excellence since then.

As for Libertine, I thought long and hard- it’s not my favourite, but obviously it’s technically a 10/10, which is what I’ve voted for. The video is obviously what made her a proper, bonafide star. And why wouldn’t it, looking at it?

The whole Cendres de Lune album was initially underwhelming for me, I only discovered and started to get into its hypnotic beauty when Ainsi soit je came out and I just couldn’t get enough of her so started listening to it properly. I had dismissed it for its lack of immediate hits but it ultimately became one of my favourite albums.

true ! Innamoramento was brilliant too, for me her last absolutely perfect album

I knew the Kate Ryan version for a good decade before I heard this but a 10 obviously.

I think I knew the Kate Ryan version first too. I know the received wisdom is that her Desenchantee = good and her Libertine = bad, but I find the original Desenchantee to be so titanic that Kate's version can't help but sound thin by comparison, whereas Libertine is just a rollicking good time no matter who's singing it.

This would not be a go to track of Mylène for me but I’d definitely want to hear it at a concert and would be 100% in.
