Probably the best thing to do for his particular audience. He’s owned up and apologised for “errors in judgement” (Meghan Markle’s never apologised has she?) and if the story persists then it’s just the woke agenda of the mainstream media.
 
He's played that well. His audience actively WANT to believe there are "dark forces".

I still want him tarred and feathered in the streets though. He makes me vomit in my mouth.

Regardless of the truth, that is toe-curlingly iconic in the most shameless way possible. It needs a mash-up with all the Schofield stuff. The vocal wobbles, pauses to swallow back down vomit and despite missing a beat by not saying "miscalculations" when it came to Carol Vorderman, was a tour-de-farce that should be studied by all week 1 media studies courses for years to come.

The worrying thing is that he sounds incredibly confident in that speech. What if.. dare I say it?… he’s telling the truth?

Maybe these are exactly the wrong people to be bringing these accounts to the fore? Multiple people who have been convicted for various actions before?

Yeah I have the same worry. If he's genuinely innocent then the right wing conspiracy nuts make another leap towards winning as the left eats itself.

The other thing I'm concerned about is how much I agree with his comments about social media (particularly Twitter) i.e. the cancellation and trial by public opinion. I guess even a twat can be right about something occasionally. Or maybe I'm one of the baddies. But are we just doing like everyone was doing with Schofe and Edwards in that we're deciding he's guilty and trying to wreck his life before any due process but seeing it as okay this time because he's the enemy?
 
If you're giving even an ounce of sympathy to this man, give your head a wobble and find somewhere else to direct it.

There is a mound of evidence against him - he has denied it there in the weakest of terms, conceded on at least some of it, and spent the majority of that monologue trying to discredit the accusers and whip up outrage in true demagogue style. Why hasn't he said he's suing Byline Times and those who've come out against him for libel?

He has looked down on so many people for so many years, acting like a voice of moral reason to tear lives apart and stoke division for fun and partisan duty. Reap what you sow, cunt.
 
I know the square root of fuck all about him honestly aside from thread says very bad man. Will trust the forum's judgement though
 
I think stories like the Huw Edwards and Philip Schofield ones had legs because they ran counter to their public image, but Dan Wootton's public image is 'sleazy, hateful gossip monger' so it's hard to find anyone who would be shocked or upset that he's vile in his personal life.

I doubt even GBNews viewers like him enough to care.

Goodness me. He’s not ‘innocent’ - even if these allegations don’t stick or do not amount to criminality, he is still well documented to be a dreadful bully and intimidator whose total lack of regard for others (not to mention any iota of journalistic standards) has ruined countless lives. Caroline Flack begged him to leave her alone. He is an utter vampire.
 
Certainly seeing no reason to LIKE the guy, just trying to have some honesty. Openly ignorant, I guess, like the average person. Happy to keep my trap shut and thoughts to myself, but here's what I know so far about this guy I'd basically never heard of (why would I want to, he sounds like an arsehole I have no desire to pay attention to, also why I'd never heard of e.g. Katie Hopkins until she was brought up on leftie internet sites):
  • A graphic account describing an extremely vile person, but the account is apparently from someone who went to prison for blackmail which lets be honest, surely at least means it warrants SOME level of questioning
  • He's the face of some shitty far right "free speech" channel for bigots so yes I probably loathe him and most of what he has to say if I had the time or inclination to listen to that type of person
  • Forum consensus, on forum of very decent people, is that he's a very vile person
  • Forum consensus is that anyone facing up to their lack of knowledge and wondering aloud whether a court of law is more useful than the court of Twitter is considered at best an idiot who needs to give their head a wobble.
Based on that very limited knowledge, I'm not yet ready to join in on a crowd baying for blood. Simple case of wanting to live up to ideals of not picking up a pitchfork based on "oh trust me he's evil, you're an idiot if you even think about questioning it". Don't want to live to any double standards, knowing I'd be wanting something more concrete for someone on "my side". Edit: and even the Grauniad are being cautious at the moment on their reporting. Are they really part of a right wing cover up?

The thing is, these allegations are not new, having been in both Private Eye and PopBitch before. It is just we're now reaching a threshold of evidence for more mainstream outlets to print. Which are being cautious out of legal obligation rather than moral.

As a random internet giraffe, I have no such obligations. So he can CUNT OFF
