I’ve POPPED to CHAMPNEYS for the weekend with OLD ELLEN, who is getting married next week.

We had a six hour drive to get here because the traffic was so bad, she’s lost her HRT patch in the thalassotherapy pool, we drank our entire stash of illegal booze on the first night and now our room smells so badly of vaping we had to tell the maid who turned up just as we were leaving it was body lotion, so pretty much par for the course SO FAR.

Since I turned 50 it's like the NHS think I'm falling to bits, they keep putting me on early screening programmes. Today's delivery was a bowel cancer screening kit, not supposed to have it till I'm 60 but they sent me a letter, dated on my 54th birthday, telling me they were testing people aged 54, 56 and 58 as part of a special trial.

I may not have a pot to piss in but today I have a teeny, tiny pot to shit in. Something to look forward to ...
